I‘ve been taking yoga classes for a few years now, with a few breaks due to COVID and moving. The classes really help me shake of the day but I‘m now wanting to bring some of the aspects of yoga off the mat into my life, especially my work life. From what I‘ve read so far, I think this book will help.

Words fail me with this book, in a good way. This correspondence between Pam Houston and Amy Irvine is beautifully written and wonderfully open, and is a call to arms. I‘ll not soon forget it.

I really enjoy Pam Houston‘s writing and so was pleasantly surprised that my new-to-me copy of this book was inscribed and signed. Unfortunately my name isn‘t Kimberly. I wonder who she is/was and how the book left her possession?

Loved this book - Matt Haig has a way with words. I‘ve also been reading The Comfort Book.

I‘ve been putting off reading this since Christmas over a fear of it sounding too good to be true.
Gonna bite the bullet now though.

Bailedbailed

I wanted to like this since I‘ve heard mostly good things about it, but I‘m 20% percent in and find the characters annoying. With the number of books in my TBR pile (and I‘m not getting any younger), it‘s time to bail and move on.

I‘m still afraid to read The Midnight Library (will it live up to the hype?) so am going with this instead.

Good suspenseful read but I can‘t buy into one part of the ending.

I love this series and usually end up laughing out loud while reading these books. Funny action is right in my wheelhouse.

Squee! I love Connie Willis. This was a cute fun story, although I wish it had arrived before Christmas. It didn‘t hit me in quite the same way as her previous novella (I Met A Traveller In An Antique Land - I sobbed over that one) did, but I still enjoyed it.

My mother raved to me about this book and told me I have no heart if I don‘t cry over it. Let‘s see if it‘s worth the hype.

Ok, I‘m a little past the season for reading this one but I‘m certainly not going to wait until next Christmas to read it.

Finally! A book that doesn‘t make me feel I‘m a failure for not having a spotless home, and understands that sometimes I‘m lazy and just don‘t want to do housework. I‘m not very far in but I‘ve already implemented some of the tips. Thanks to Patricia at BookRiot for highlighting this one on the All The Backlist podcast!

LauraJ I like the app that goes with this book. 3y
Tanner @LauraJ - oooh, there‘s an app? (edited) 3y
LauraJ @Tanner yes! 3y

“‘The Book‘... is rectangular because cows, goats, and sheep are rectangular too.” I love this quote from p331 of ‘The Book‘ by Keith Houston. A very enjoyable read that brought back some of the information I learned in my Graphic Communications courses.

Tanner @intothehallofbooks It‘s such a well-done book. I think I heard about it on one of the Book Riot podcasts so looked for it in the bookstore. When I saw it, I knew I had to have it. 😀 4y

Went to an author event this evening, Kate Atkinson in Conversation. Thoroughly enjoyed it - what a smart, funny woman. And not only did she sign the new one for me, but she also signed the other two I brought. Mikey-Cat was really enjoying the soft-touch lamination on the dustjacket of the new one, but is wondering about the significance of the flamingo.
