I wanted to read the book before I watched the movie. I really enjoyed reading the book. I loved the structure. I felt like the letters were directly being delivered to me.

When you have lived as long as I have, you will find that cruelty and benevolence are but shades of the same color!

Inspite of the not so good reviews I picked thi book since it was a book we were talking about in our book club and also since it said it was a " romance novel". I like a complex protagonist character so thought it was interesting until I hit half of the book. After that it was hard to take the same thing over and over. There is no proper character arc or story arc. I had to read through the end expecting something to change but nothing changed.

The Light We Lost | Jill Santopolo

I have had this book for almost 2 months and never got to read it. And I borrowed it on kindle again and couldn't put it down. I finished this book in about 5 hours in 2 days. The author took me through the mad rollercoaster of love, life and loss. Such a good read.

Like most books, this book definitely should speak to you at the right moment. I am glad I listened to this book because I felt it was more effective that way. And it helped me get through my writer's block and write.

May be it works for people with kids or may be someone in a similar phase like the author. I couldn't relate to it.

This book wasn't an easy read for me, because geology and animals wasn't something that I read before. But as I got into it, I started liking it. Hungry Tide wasn't a read at one go for me. It was a book that I have been ruminating on after few weeks. And I am so glad I stuck with it without bailing on it.

There There: A novel | Tommy Orange

There there is the honest, captivating and funny book I have read in the recent times. It was a literary marvel. Each sentence had soemthing to ponder upon. What started off like an essay anthology turned out to be a very complicated story.

This is such an awesome book. It hit the right spot for me. I am not a huge fan of self help books, but I don't classify this as one. I would call it a self realization book. Along f with telling so many good things about how to be compassionate and let things go, she spoke about so many scientific reasons why. I listened to this book. I would totally give it a few re-runs.

An Unnecessary Woman | Rabih Alameddine
Mehso-so

This book isn't a bad book. I enjoyed so many things about this book. I enjoyed the character and her literary ability. At many points I felt this was an unnecessary book. But there was a lot of wisdom she has which was great to read. This book doesn't have a strong plot which I guess is given, and couldn't hold my attention for a greater period of time. It's a lazy book and wasn't particularly engaging at any instance

Americanah | Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

I have never had a favourite author till now, but I guess I found my favorite author. Chimamanda has an amazing way to get to my heart with magical words. I could resonate with almost every instance she mentioned as an immigrant in the US, myself.India and Nigeria are so similar in many aspects and she just knew what to say. When the book was over, I felt a pang of sadness because I didnt want to say bye to obinze and ifem just yet.

How i love a teenage love story. But this isn't like any other love story I read. I so totally felt like I was there with Lara Jean and Peter seeing how their love blossomed. I am already ready to re-read the whole series.

Being a runner myself, I could resonate with Haruki Murakami on so many levels. The way a runner feels on the race day to what they think about when they are running. It felt like those were the words which were hidden in my brain waiting to be spoken

I knew I was going to read this book after I read the first one. This series definitely brings out the hopeless romantic in me. It took me 3 months to get this book from the library. I read it in less than 2 days. Ready for the 3rd book in the series ..

57 bus is such an intense book with less than 300 pages to read. Generally most books write about how an incident happened but not about the aftermath of an incident. This is a book filled with compassion, hurt and also opens up so much about all the problems teenagers go through.

CoffeeNBooks This was such a sad and intense story, but a good book! 6mo

I so loved this book. It's been so long I read a complete teen book and I am so glad I did. This book made me feel like a teenager again !! Now I know I would be hooked onto this trilogy.

Like A.J says " This is a book that I could respond to at this point in my life". Gabrielle Zevin definitely did some magic with the words. The occasional nuggets of knowledge are worth re-reading.

The Last Black Unicorn | Tiffany Haddish
Mehso-so

Honestly, I would have bailed on this, had I not enrolled in the Book reading challenge. I have seen a few skits of Tiffany Haddish and thought she was funny. She had a really rough childhood and i sympathize
With her. But i would have much appreciated if she mentioned how her journey took off in Hollywood apart from few snippets of her conversation. It made it worse since it was an audiobook.

I am not a huge fan of 700 page books. This is totally an exception. I generally feel lengthy books have a lot of unnecessary detail, but this one is so well narrated and written with very little non-relevant information. Super intense book which puts you at ease slowly towards the end of the book. I would want to read the next books but not anytime soon. I will cool off my brain with some comedies for a bit.

I am a huge lover of Romance books.. I saw this book in the bookstore and thought I would totally love it. I pulled myself to 1/3rds of the book, thinking I might like it later. I felt this book was so high on describing the Tuscan lifestyle and low on story. Wish I liked it.
