It‘s getting on my nerves now with the same plot and fifty shades of grey style .

This is so in the line of fifty shades of grey. A quick love story

This is an amazing book which not only tells about why we crave for stuff but also the science behind it. This is my most favorite minimalism book so far where he is not forcing on what you need to declutter but gives you tips on how you can make it work for you.

My first CoHo book and I kinda understand the hype now. Wow such a bone chilling thriller. Not sure if I liked it really but it surely was gripping

Carrie Soto Is Back | Taylor Jenkins Reid
Pickpick

Carrie Soto was such an unlikeable character so it took a few pages for me to get into the book unlike other TJR books. But the way she transformed her life was amazing. And I have to say Xavier Soto is my favorite

Such a wholesome story with great plot and character arcs. I always wanted to surf and this kind of made me want to get to the hobby

There haven‘t been too many books which sit with me for days after I read it. I read this book a few days ago but still can‘t seem to forget how true and real this book is

Dava Shastri's Last Day | Kirthana Ramisetti
Pickpick

This is the first book which I read about a woman of Indian Origin. Dava is a woman who wore many hats and has a lot of flaws too. Although I was very disappointed in the author to not be cognizant of the Telugu language, she had it written as Telegu in the book .

This is a book that would make you enjoy the mundane details of life. The characters are so well layered.

Believe It when I say Sally Rooney writes the most real and unlikeable women characters. This is a story about Francis and she living her life on her own terms mostly.

This is the most unique and loving book I‘ve read this year. I love that it‘s a multi person narrative not a singular narrative. This is a story about 8 women who end up going to America from Japan. Definitely recommend this book

Such a beautiful book with what every family has - lots of love and some hidden lies. Love how the book unfolds and Tara and Mukta evolve as the times change.

Sorrow and Bliss | Meg Mason
Pickpick

This book follows the crazy life of Martha who seems to know what she wants and intentionally(and sometimes unintentionally ) destroys it and hopes things were not how they turned out. This follows her mental illness but doesn‘t make us feel too sympathetic(not in a bad way) but shows the reality from close quarters.

The Guncle | Steven Rowley

Love how with the story the character of Patrick also evolves. This is a beautiful story about family, togetherness, love and hope. The pace was slow until about 1/3rd of the book but after that it was hard to put it down. Totally recommend

I really tried to love this book. But 1/3rd into the book, I had the same knowledge as I had 5 pages in. Although real, it was mundane reading the same thing over and over again for 70 pages.

Heaven | Mieko Kawakami

This is an intense yet touching book. Talks about bullying, suicide. What was good was how bullying is touched both from bullied and the one who bullied‘s POV.

This book is set in 1950‘s but many of the struggles this women faces still sound true to this time. I love how passionate Elizabeth Sod is about Science, love and Women‘s rights. What I thought was a fun romantic read ended up being a layered book leaving lot to think about

Almond: A Novel | Won-pyung Sohn
Pickpick

I loved the way the book started by giving the gist of the whole story in a line like an elevator pitch. The way the character developed was slow yet steady. I really liked the way the story narrated with every other character‘s development along with the main character

I Love You So Mochi | Sarah Kuhn
Pickpick

I was not drawn in when I started reading the book. It felt it was a mean girl kinda book but I loved how the book ended up. Kimmy loves making clothes, she also likes painting. Her mom who is an artist herself thought Kimmy would continue her legacy. Kimmy gets invited to go to Japan by her grandparents and she decides to go on a self discovery journey. This novel has love, friendship, self discovery and lots of mush. Definitely recommend it

The Maid | Nita Prose

This is one of the biggest disappointments for me. I wanted to love this book. But the character was so flat with no development whatsoever. And the story is the most clichéd one ever.

Crying in H Mart: A Memoir | Michelle Zauner

This is a book of grief , faith and finding herself. The author wrote her heart out on how she felt losing her mother, reconnecting with her father and finding herself again.

Sweet Bean Paste | Durian Sukegawa

This book took me to a beautiful place and left me with a sense of contentment about life. This quote is going to live with me “I began to understand that we were born in order to see and listen to the world. And that's all this world wants of us. It doesn't matter that I was never a teacher or a member of the workforce, my life had meaning.”

I was very intrigued after reading the blurb of the story that I immediately got my hands on it. This is one of the books which starts off great but falls flat almost immediately. There was 0 emotional connect. At no point have i got connected to Leila. I felt sorry for her a couple of times but that's it. I don't know if author went with the fact that not everything has closure in life, but the story was so disjointed and all over the place.

The Briefcase | Hiromi Kawakami

Being used to strong protagonists who are either likeable or dislikable, Tsusiko and Sensei were such refreshing characters. The story of them just sitting and drinking felt very new and interesting.

After reading the sample of the ebook, I was very intrigued and was so sure I would love the book. Little did I know the book was 20x the first chapter. 1/4th into the book, i came to know more about Kathy than the protagonist. It was a good story with very poor writing. I read till the end in the hope to like it, unfortunately that didn't happen!

The hole was weirdly endearing. Though the protagonist is as normal as normal can get and the story normal too, there was so.ething which didn't want me to put the book down.
