This memoir sheds light on queer life around WWII outside of New York and San Fransisco, a story hardly ever told. With shades of Stone Butch Blues, it provides slices of life rather than an over-arching narrative. A short read and definitely worth it for anyone interested in American queer history.

The author skillfully brings together so many threads and passions in this book to form a captivating narrative that kept me on my toes till the very end. While I sometimes wanted to punch the main character, his slow development into a more understanding and loving person was wonderful to witness. I loved the balance of fiction, history, and mythology!

MrBook Nice review! I'm eager to get this one. 7y

My mom got to see Alison Bechdel speak last night and got her first edition of Fun Home signed not to her but to me. As cartoon Alison says, I have an awesome mom. This book has meant so much to me over the years and I can't wait to see my name in her writing in person! #signed #signedbook #lgbt #queer

Caterina Ayyyy your awesome mom and I stood in the same line! The talk was so amazing that I bought Fun Home afterwards and got it signed! 7y

One of my all-time favorite books and definitely topping my list of good things that happened to me in 2016. Giving copies to two different people for Christmas! (You can tell this is one of the gift copies because mine is already super beat-up!)

It's not often that you find something both so similar and so different from a beloved classic, but this pulls it off! Everything you love about Christmas Carol, but all new! Dickens could have written it himself. Lovett's attention to detail brings new life to these classic characters and continues to shine light on the social issues present in the original story. (Grabbed this pic off the author's Facebook, but I wanted to use something good.)

MrBook Nice! 😊👍🏻 7y

Louise Just saw the tiny print! Yes, it was sad to see that one go. They had a nice children's section and great cards. Some quirky books too! 8y

Mehso-so

I loved the world-building in this novel. The environment is so creative and engaging and I absolutely want to know more about it. However, the plot and characters didn't grab me the way those in the Dresden books do and I felt like the pacing was a little slow.
