This is the best way to start the morning. I am in awe of this writing. Not only am I inspired by all that I read in this collection, but I am inspired to pick up the different works of literature and poetry that is discussed in this book. Bravo Mr. Cole!!! :)

Just finished the first 20 pages and I am hooked. What a devastating and important story already! I have a feeling this is going to be a winner. I just wish I didn't have to go to work so I can read this all day.

Hazel0303 The kindle version doesn't have page numbers so I can only go by percentage, but I have been on pins and needles the entire 22% I have read so far... 8y

This is a powerful one. A family tragedy with immense heart and soul. The characters are so complex and fully developed. This is a strong debut by Nicole Dennis-Benn and I can't wait for more from her.

Wow. What an intense, dark, and graphic read. It was wonderful! It really opened my eyes to the world of addiction. I have never read a book in which the narrator is so unlikeable, yet manages to keep your interest the whole entire time! Her mix of first and second person is brilliant. This is not for the faint of heart. Jade Sharma throws convention out the window and the result is stunning.

What a grounding and warm book of short stories. So Smith's writing is gritty and down to earth in this collection. Each story follows different characters and their relationship with life and love. After reading the last story, I felt like I had received a huge, warm hug.

This book blew my mind. The sentences sing with character and personality. I smiled throughout this whole thing. Ramona Ausubel goes in depth with each character so you know exactly why they do the things they do. Themes of family, loss, class and most importantly love. A must read!
