Run So Far | Peggy Nicholson

I've never read this book, and it's not very likely I ever will. But when I was looking for inspiration for today's #sisforseptember #sofar topic, I found this little gem. I mean, that vintage cover is fantastic! There should be a revitalization of old school cover art. I'd also like to see those old school paperback prices come back too!!

I love this series! I was hooked by page three! #sisforseptember #sofar

Mike Bowditch, a game warden in Maine, is now an investigator, and his first case takes him to a small island off the coast. If you haven‘t read any yet, start with his first, The Poacher‘s Son.

Books read #sofar in September! The Trial gets 1 star from this collection of Kafka's works - I should have bailed on it as I just didn't understand it. #SisforSeptember @CaliforniaCay

A Confession | Leo Tolstoy

Pickpick

This is important book for understanding his works -I agree, but I don't completely agree with his thinking, but hey, that's his confession and who I'm to judged his feelings ... except that -I think it's #sofar the best book I have read this year. An extraordinary insight into his thoughts about religion, family, depression, faith ... with a common starting point in the ultimate question -WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE? Does anyone know the answer?

Leniverse I'm tempted to say 42, as I'm a Douglas Adams fan, but seriously... I don't agree that life is meaningless. I believe it to be inherently empty of meaning, and we have to fill it ourselves. Meaningless = negative, futile. Empty of meaning = can be filled, life is what you make of it. 7y
Simona @Leniverse His starting point is a midlife crisis and the abyss of depression ... and of course, I agree with you that we must find the meaning of life for ourselves by ourselves, and even Tolstoy ends his confession more upbeat like it seems from this quote.... and maybe 42 is the right answer 😉 7y

#splashintosummerreads #favorite

My favorite book of 2017 #sofar I'm trying to clean up my TBR, not add to it, but I'm definitely going to hit Hamid's backlist!

BarbaraBB I loved The Reluctant Fundamentalist, have you read that one? If so, is this one even better? 7y
Erynecki I'm almost done with this one and definitely find the themes powerful and timely. 7y
SaraBeagle @BarbaraBB I've read them both and this one is just as good! 7y

daena I loved it too! 7y
RanaElizabeth Read How to Get Filthy Rich! What Hamid does within the constraints of the format is amazing. It's written as a self-help but is so deep. 7y
amycollard Reading it right now! 7y
BarbaraBB @SaraBeagle Wow, promising! I'll have to buy this one soon! 7y
bedandabook Loved this one so much. Really want to read The Reluctant Fundamentalist now. 7y
