My childhood role model 😊

ravenlee Based on my current reread of the series with my kiddo - Nancy would probably have a car accident, leap to some conclusions that turn out right (against all odds), and enjoy some girl time with George and Bess along the way. 😆 2w
bookandbedandtea @ravenlee All after being offered a free trip to some fabulous location where she can dance the night away with the adorable Ned Nickerson while "gathering clues!" 2w

(Day 2 - #PreferredGenre)

*Considering I grew up on Nancy Drew, is it any wonder that I still love a good mystery? Well, the answer to that question is hardly a *ahem* mystery. ♥️

Andrew65 😍 For me in the UK I was brought up on the Famous Five and Secret Seven by Enid Blyton. Been a mystery and Suspense fan ever since! (edited) 1mo

gradcat @Andrew65 I, too, read Enid Blyton! I agree with you...they get in your blood & brain and never leave! From there it was just a short time before Agatha Christie, then P. D. James, etc, etc, ad infinitum! 1mo
Linsy Love that collection! 💛 1mo
gradcat @Linsy I know, right? So great & very nostalgic! 1mo
Crazeedi All my favorite Nancy's! My daughter has a few of mine 1mo
gradcat @Crazeedi I know you don‘t watch tv, but there‘s a Nancy Drew show on the CW network. I watched the first one...boy, it‘s not your mama‘s Nancy Drew anymore!! 😂😂 1mo
Crazeedi @gradcat I should maybe look for it! Thanks!! 1mo
gradcat @Crazeedi You may not recognize her. She‘s not like the Nancy Drew that you & I read. One of the first scenes has her climbing out of her boyfriend‘s bed...this is a racier Nancy—not that there‘s anything wrong with that! 😂 She‘s just not like the Nancy Drew that I read. 1mo
Crazeedi @gradcat oh my maybe I dont want to watch it, #notmynancy 1mo
gradcat @Crazeedi That‘s what my mother said, exactly. 😂 #notmynancy 1mo

Love the tagged book so far. Today is reserved for some house keeping stuff... Doing the laundry, vaccum cleaning, dishwasher... 😒 Not too exciting. Loving my viking mug. 😊

For years, I‘ve told myself I would read all 56 Nancy Drew mysteries... there are a few I‘ve never read. The simple sentences really make me want to laugh. But, I read about a third of the book in no time at all and quite enjoyed myself.

Charityann I want to read through them all in order too. I read most of them as kid, but it‘s fun to go back and see how they hold up as a grown-up. 😊Did you ever read the Nancy Drew files? 3w
Purplerosiepage @Charityann No, I think I tried, but never got into them. 3w

BethM Crispy m&ms were a let down, so were the hazelnut. 3mo
Avanders @BethM yeah.. I liked the hazelnut *nut* ones okay, but I was disappointed w the hazelnut *spread* ones 🤷🏽‍♀️ I guess they can‘t win ‘em all! 😁 3mo

A charming collection of cartoons that is a great introduction to Gauld's work. If you want to send them to people, probably best to buy two copies so you can keep one for yourself 😉

I found these in a trunk after a long day of cleaning. What a great reward to be able to read the letters and postcards sent between two people who are embarking on a life- long journey together. Part of what I love about these books is that you are able to actually open the letters, unfold the paper, and have a moment where you experience the guilty thrill of reading another person‘s mail. Old school fun!

rather_be_reading cant wait to get to this one! 4mo

Book 2 completed for #24in48. The 5th book in the Griffin and Sabine saga. This one further delves into their connections to Isabella and Matthew and throws in the mythology of The Sphinx, Thoth and Hermès. A bit of a cliffhanger at the end...
