#NFNov Documentary number 2 finished.
#TIL The state of New York took in the most "Orphan Train" riders. I always thought they all went to the Midwest. This was a very good documentary, with interviews from actual Orphan Train Riders.

I❤️❤️❤️ Revel books, and this one looks great. The hope of Azure Springs, by a debut author.

Loved this book so much! Em and Caleb are such richly drawn characters, and the writing is wonderful. Orphaned at age 12, Em and her younger sister are put on an orphan train, where they end up being separated. The book opens seven years later. When Em finally has the chance to travel to the town where she and her sister had been separated, I cried for several pages. Beautiful story, beautifully written, and emotionally satisfying.

I signed up with Revell Reads months ago and finally was selected for not one but two books! And then a third book came in the package that I had not entered for! Starting this one tonight.

After the death of her parents and some time living on the streets, Rodzina Brodski is picked up by authorities and sent out West on an orphan train. Will Rodzina ever find a family and a place to belong? Much like Kline‘s novel Orphan Train, Rodzina teaches readers about what many orphans experienced during this often overlooked period of history. The afterward also offers a great list for further reading.
