If The Spellshop was a fuzzy blanket for my spirit, this book was a gentle hearthfire, warming right down to the depths of me.

In this book, we get to meet Terlu Perna, who created the sentient talking spider plant, Kaz, and paid a steep price for it.

From forgiveness and redemption to self-discovery and healing, Durst covers a range of topics without straying from her characteristic cozy style and stunning imagery.

100% recommend!

Terlu broke the law and was turned into a statue as punishment so it was quite a surprise when she woke up in a snowy forest six years later.
Terlu was sent to the island of Belde, home of an enchanted greenhouse that is failing and the gardener who hopes she can save it.
So cozy and sweet, with a found family of sentient plants and learning that you are worth sticking around for.

Singing plants and honey cakes. It‘s exactly what I needed. Me being me, I could have done without the romance. But I liked the vibe and also the hope.

#Falling Sept 1 Wildlife. Day late.
This male caribou hung out by our house for two evenings last week. I‘m always amazed at how caribou can lift their heads with those racks. 😮😳

Eggs Amazing! The trees remind me of Wisconsin 2w

#Pemberlittens how was your August? Caught up on Rational Creatures & Dangerous To Know Anthologies. Really enjoyed NA & MP stories.

MP movie changed important things so it wasn't really in the spirit of Jane. But if you ignored that it was good.

Tagged book is part of Murder on Location series. Not MP but I enjoyed.

Jane Was Here was a delight!

Jane's part of The Watsons was brilliant. Continuation was mediocre.

BarkingMadRead I ended up bailing on mine. 3w
willaful I can't bring myself to watch that version of Mansfield Park. I'd like to read Jane Was Here, if I can find it.

My read was The Rushworth Family Plot, which I enjoyed more than any since the first book. I feel the Edmund and Fanny she writes is a little OTT, but close enough it doesn't bother me. The romance is heating up and also starcrossed! And there's some fun comeuppances. 😋

TheBookHippie I failed miserably 🤣😅 on to September! 3w
Crinoline_Laphroaig @willaful it's just such a slow slow slow burn. 3w

peanutnine I read Manslaughter Park and really enjoyed it! The changes the author makes to the stories for the mystery are always well thought out and true to the spirit I think. Fanny had more character growth which I appreciated 3w
Crinoline_Laphroaig @peanutnine such a beautiful book 3w

My favorite things in this series is the locations, this time Bath, Jane Austen mentions, and the ongoing romance.

I've been gradually working my way thru. This was perfect for this month's #ThematicCozies theme of Travel. I'll return to it @julieclair for December's Holiday prompt.

julieclair I'm so glad you're enjoying this series. It really does sound good. I like the idea that each book is set in a different location. 4w

This one took way too long to read. It wasn‘t as good as the first one. The story took a long time to get going and didn‘t have the build up that the first one did (which maybe it wasn‘t meant to have). I ended up skipping pages at the end just to finish it.
