Some really fascinating dresses in here! My favourite was this Dior dress though.

We do not care that we bought the shorts we're wearing at a thrift store during Clinton's second term. Some styles are timeless.
We also do not care that we're posting this on Thursday. Time is a construct, and we can't be expected to keep up with what day it is.

This was frustrating in not showing the full image of the garments, only closeups of whatever bit was under discussion (e.g. decoration or fastenings). This made it hard to picture how the garments were actually worn and what bit of the garment was being shown.
Buuut it's a fascinating overview of the V&A's collection of underwear, and various relevant aspects of underwear fashion.
#PemberLittens 20th Anniversary showing of Pride and Prejudice definitely called for dressing up. Niece in law Jen and I had the best time. We sighed, we laughed, we clapped.

I took am intro embroidery class this morning and I enjoyed it very much!
I‘m posting one of this at the beginning and one when I‘m done for motivation. It‘s taking me forever to get to 😫. #embroidery

Yes, I'm reading random Georgian satirical pamphlets. I'm actually trying to trace a long chain of anonymous plagiarism, after a snide remark in Derenzy's Enchiridion about a cravat pamphlet. This one came much later, and is stolen from a French satirist. But that's okay, because I think he stole it from an Englishman before him. Anyway, it's all very silly and yet still has real and interesting insight into 1820s men's fashion.
4/5⭐ As a reference it's wonderfully informative with tons of illustrations and photos. The author uses muslin to demonstrate so many variations of gathering, shirring, ruffles, flounces, godets, pleating, smocking, tucking, cording, quilting, stuffing, and darts. She also shows how combinations of these methods can be used to produce beautiful patterns in creative projects. I can see why this book is recommended in crafting circles so often.
