Um it's knights in brocaded silk roaming around and bedding maidens and killing earls and plucking the beard hairs off of strong men while they're knocked out (followed by killing them?). It's kind of a mess but don't worry, every maiden is the most beautiful woman possible: skin as white as a swan's ass, lips redder than the reddest blood, hair as blonde as broom flowers?, wearing brocaded silk, snow white booba, eyes like beautiful eyes-

My latest short story is inspired by Celtic myths. This book is a little dry, but was informative for research. 3 stars. #writer #research #Celtic #mythology A

Branwen is the name of my favorite character from Welsh mythology, specifically from The Mabinogion stories! 💙 Plus, it looks and sounds beautiful, right?

ravenlee Have you read Kelley Armstrong‘s Cainsville books? The mythology underlying them might appeal to you if you haven‘t. 2y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks It absolutely does!! 2y
Branwen @ravenlee *gasps* NO! I have NOT read them! But I am adding them to my tbr list immediately! 😂 Thank you! 💙 📚 2y
ravenlee 😁 there‘s a triangle of the incarnations of Gwynn, Arawn, and Malt-y-Nos at the heart of the series, though they‘re very much their own people trying to live their lives within/despite the mythological pattern. 2y
Branwen @ravenlee That sounds incredible! 😱 2y

@Avanders tagged me in asking what my top 10 sifi/fantasy books are. I could not pick 10 so I went with 11. Tagging @Moonprismpower @nelehelen @GrilledCheeseSamurai @JaneyWaneyB @Deifio @iread2much

Deifio This is a tough one! 3y
Deifio Great choices! 3y
Moonprismpower Oooh. I haven‘t read any of these. I‘d say I read urban fantasy and sci-fi and my favorites are Ender‘s Game and Dark Matter. 3y

iread2much I loved the hounds of the morrigan when I was a kid! 3y
Avanders 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 happy to see some books on here that I own.... and now I have to go add some more to my list 😁😁😁 3y
Pogue @iread2much I reread that one, Moonheart and the Caverns of Socrates every few years. 3y
Pogue @Deifio thank you 3y
Pogue @Moonprismpower look at Moonheart and Caverns of Socrates. de Lint wrote urban fantasy before it was urban fantasy. CoS is about VR and something like D&D. The first 5 chapters are technical explaining the set up. 3y
Pogue @Avanders let me know what ones you add! 3y
