Finished in March for #TwinPeaksReadingChallenge
#TheManFromAnotherPlace

A new girl has moved in next door. There is something wrong with her, though. And she only comes out at night.

This is a really good vampire story. It‘s very detailed, a little gory, and possibly disturbing to some. Great for readers who like their vampire fiction dark and creepy.

JessClark78 @JenlovesJT47 I love Twin Peaks too. It was hosted by @Yuki_Onna and ran from February 2024 through February 2025. I‘m just very behind on reviews. I believe @Yuki_Onna is doing it again next year. 1mo
JenlovesJT47 Cool, thank you! 1mo
Yuki_Onna @JenlovesJT47 Yes, I intend to do another round of #TwinPeaksReadingChallenge next year with some old and some new prompts. Let me know if you'd like to be tagged! 🌲🌲🌲 1mo

This is a great collection of horror stories featuring many notable authors in the genre. It offers a wide range of horror, from subtle to the more disturbing. Good read for horror aficionados.

Joan has been searching for her missing husband for nearly a year. One morning she finds him in a revival tent in a parking lot, but he doesn‘t recognize her at all. She suspects something dark and terrifying within him.

This was a good story, inspired by the rogarou legend - ‘a werewolf-like creature that haunts the roads and woods of Native people‘s communities.‘

I read this because it was described as Lovecraftian cosmic horror meets surrealist Lynchian imagery in Maine. I wasn‘t always fond of the writing, but the story was interesting enough for me to want to finish.

I really like the movie, which I saw before reading the book. The book has a lot of differences so it was like reading an entirely different story. This was a decent ghost story. Good for fans of ghost fiction.

AnnCrystal True, the book is different. While the the movie is one of my favorites, the book didn't make it as affavorite. Although, the scenes that were good, were creepy good 📚💝. 1mo
Bookwomble I enjoyed both the movie and the book. I like the differences, as it meant both had an element of surprise regardless of which you first experienced. Matheson is such a good writer. 1mo
JessClark78 @AnnCrystal I agree. Both are good, but I prefer the movie as well. 1mo
JessClark78 @Bookwomble That‘s exactly how I felt. The book gave me an ending I wasn‘t expecting. He is a good writer. I have to read more of his books. 1mo

Vianne Rocher sweeps into the town of Lansquenet and opens a chocolate shop across from the church during Lent, making an enemy of Father Francis.

This is such a good story. A little bit witchy and full of delicious details. The food descriptions almost make me salivate. I recommend.

Finished this in January.

Wanted to read this because I love the movie. There‘s so much story not included in the film. This is a very dense story that can take a little while to get through. It‘s well written with amazing descriptions, magical realism, and an awesome horse. There is some horse cruelty I didn‘t like.

I‘m a little late joining the last #TwinPeaksReadingChallenge for the year. It was a wait for my libby loan to be available. L&L is being paired with a s‘mores tasting NA brewski.
