Hoping to read the tagged book this year!
Courtesy of Captain Trips, there are #TooManyCreeps running around in The Stand.
#DearMrPresident Snow. The only evil president I like.

batsy The tagged book is brilliant! And I just spilled tea on myself reading your President Snow comment 😂 2y
TrishB Great post 👍🏻 2y
Gezemice Great choice! I read it last year and it was amazing. And I agree on President Snow. So deliciously evil. (edited) 2y

Centique And that quote is great! 2y
rohit-sawant @batsy 😆 Hope it wasn't too hot! I haven't read any of VW's books yet and this will be the first! 2y
rohit-sawant @Centique It says so much in so little words, doesn't it? 💜 2y

#🤢 #thisremindsmeof this novel. The depiction of violence and sadistic murders 😱🤢.
@JoeStalksBeck @Tiffy_Reads

#fiercefeb #toomanycreeps Though the story provides a sharp insight into modern society, Bateman is a total creep.
@Cinfhen @batsy

batsy Yes, agreed! Great pick. 2y
Cinfhen Haven't read this book, but I'm told it's pretty brutal!! 2y
TrishB I really didn‘t like this book 😔 2y

Dulcinella I hated the book. I thought it very brutal, crazy and deliberately upsetting. I never understood the fuzz about it. And seriously: you need a very sick mind to think of some of the things Bateman does. 😞 2y
JoeStalksBeck @Dulcinella I could get through the book because I could stand him rambling on about clothes , his OCD was boooooooring lol 2y
MicheleinPhilly HATED this one. 🤮 2y

#FierceFeb #TooManyCreeps 📚These six books all feature stalker-ish creeps, which is definitely too many creeps. I have read them all & could have easily added more from my stacks. It seems that I have a fondness for thrillers featuring creeps. 😱😬

#fiercefeb #toomanycreeps

OK I know this book looks too soft and sweet for this prompt. (We do know I‘m a big softie though right?😂) But this is the book I‘m giving my young teen to show her one of the ways in which there are #toomanycreeps in the world. This book does a great job of showing up the “seemingly nice guy”. Who is not what he seems.

I guess I‘m going to be that mother that gives dates a hard time aren‘t I?!! 😳

Beckys_Books I tell my husband that if he doesn't put the fear of God in Baby Girl's dates then I will! 2y
Centique @Beckys_Books I think we might be better at it than them! I‘m a better judge of character anyway 😊 2y
Beckys_Books Agreed! 2y
batsy Great pick. And sound advice for your kid; I look at dating these days and feel like if I was a mum I'd definitely be 10x more protective than mine! Because we definitely know about the "nice guys" vs actually decent guys. 2y
Centique @batsy amen to that! 2y

Creepy af. You will never look at a suitcase the same way again.

#toomanycreeps #fiercefeb
@batsy @Cinfhen

batsy Oh, interesting! Definitely already on my list :) 2y
Reggie In the back, did you read where his mother asked him to write a romance and this was it. Lololol what‘s crazy guy. 2y
readordierachel @Reggie Hahaha! Wow. No, I somehow missed or forgot that. I did see where he said he tested putting his girlfriend in a suitcase to make sure it was plausible. 2y

The Bateman brothers are the ultimate consumers #toomanycreeps
#Fiercefeb @Cinfhen @batsy

batsy Yes, perfect! I read AP years ago and I feel like I'm still recovering... But I'll get to Rules at some point! 2y
PagesOfKate Rules of attraction is not quite such heavy going (no lengthy passages on Phil Collins!) @Batsy. That being said, Lunar Park has to be my top pick for BEE novels - not sure if you've read it yet. Quite different from his other work, in a good way! 2y

TrishB @Cathythoughts it‘s been a very restful day, thank you ❤️ 2y
batsy 👍👍 An author I've been meaning to check out! 2y
TrishB @batsy I love her books, they are quite violent/graphic and I‘ve read some reviews that say that puts them off. Just letting you know 👍🏻 2y
batsy Thanks @TrishB, I've heard about that re: her books & appreciate the trigger warning 👍 2y

Asking For It | Louise O'Neill
post image

#FierceFeb #TooManyCreeps @Cinfhen @batsy

This wasn‘t an easy or satisfying read, but I think that‘s appropriate, given the content. It made me angry and distressed, as it should. I liked that the protagonist wasn‘t a ‘good‘ or even particularly likeable character. I appreciated that the wrongdoers weren‘t overtly evil, but recognisable, ‘good boys who got carried away‘. We have so much work to do. I look forward to more by Louise O‘Neill.

batsy Great description. This is the second time this book has come up this month; I definitely want to read it. 2y
Kalalalatja I agree with everything you said, perfect review! 2y
JennAndrew @batsy @Kalalalatja thank you 😊. I also enjoyed ‘Only Ever Yours‘, by the same author. A YA dystopia with a similar feminist feel 👍🏻. 2y

Cinfhen Sorry I missed this post! I really WANT to read this book...even though YA is not my thing and I‘m curious about the other book you mentioned 2y
JennAndrew @Cinfhen they‘re two very different types of YA. Only Ever Yours is a dystopian future fantasy type, but Asking For It is more contemporary fiction that has teenage characters. If you‘re not into YA, I‘d go for AFI, although it is a difficult topic. 2y
Cinfhen I got that sense from the book blurbs...will definitely be looking for AFI 2y
