I appreciated so much about The Belles. Clayton's purpose--which she outlines in her author's note--is crystal clear. She develops her appreciation for all types of beauty and her resistance of societal objectification of women. Her world building is excellent, and Camellia is a great, strong protagonist. I loved the fast-moving plot, the brilliant women at its center, and the fabulous back stories that create rich secondary characters.

Lissie 😭this makes me remember my moomin doggy up home 200 miles away. I have just visited the family over weekend and came back sunday. It was moomoo‘s 12th bday though on friday. She is a precious princess. And little baby roo roo is as well as he is a prince. ❤️🐶🐶❤️ although i did end up missing MY mr moomoo back here bless him ❤️🐶 dogs 😍 6y
