Kid me loved this actor, watched his version of TV Superman as a little girl and remained a lifelong fan ever since. This was one of the first shows I became a fan of without my brother to snuggle up to while we watched.

With the current hate infused climate of this Administration. This feels like a betrayal.

And the fact that Dean Cain's biological father is Japanese! How could he do to my people what was done to his?

AnnCrystal It may seem silly, Dean Cain is just an actor who was cast to play a part. Yet, it's so much more.

As a American BORN Indigenous and Chicana, there came a time while growing up when I had to learn about how the heroes that I was supposed to admire as an American were not so heroic to my ancestors. Many were my ancestors villains.

Discovering the truth from my cultural prospective, it felt like betrayal.

It wasn't easy to learn about my own cultural Heroes while growing up, therefore, the Superheroes from pop culture were adopted.

Actors and actresses bring characters into reality. Especially for children, superheroes and superheroines come alive when they see these characters on the screen.

AnnCrystal I just keep wondering, how many kids are going to see this news about Dean Cain and (whether they've seen his version of Superman or not) become frightened about why Superman has joined those who are terrorizing our communities. How many children are going to wonder if their brown skin automatically makes them bad?

🤔 I absolutely 🤬 my father's family, but I love the Chicana heritage. Perhaps if Dean Cain allowed himself to experience his Japanese half, he would discover a love for the culture. The Japanese culture is just as beautiful as his English, French-Canadian, Irish, and Welsh heritages. 3mo

Butterfinger I get how you feel. I remember being depressed when I found out Lincoln was not as heroic as we were lead to believe. Dean Cain has lost so many fans over this, and those of us who care will make sure to teach ALL children the value and voice they deserve. 3mo

Most of my ancestry originated right here (excluding the Spanish bits). Yet I and my American Indigenous mom are in danger everytime we venture out and about because we were born brown upon our own land ✊🏼🤬 ✊🏼🐻💫. (edited) 3mo

IriDas I loved Lois and Clark, too. It was a quirky little show that aged well. But Dean Cain lost me several years ago with his religious bigotry and conservatism. This does not surprise me. 3mo
