Controversial take: books set in the early 2000s could be considered historical fiction. Read this article over on Book Riot to see why.

April 28, 2025 ooooo things are getting steamy. So far so GOOD. Scarlett has shared that she likes and has feelings for Lukas. Lukas Penolope also told Scarlett the truth that she was the one who initiated the breakup between her a Lukas because she felt there was no chemistry and no sex. Now she is with another guy and she is enjoying that relationship.

#Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

Finished earlier in the week, this was my second book for #ThematicCozies April #Sports theme. I really enjoyed this mystery set in the world of river rafting on the Arkansas River in Colorado. The MC, Mandy Tanner is a River Ranger who rescues two people when a tour raft upsets & one of them dies—turns out he was poisoned & since the raft & guide were her uncle‘s, she gets involved in the investigation. I liked the ⬇️

DebinHawaii … rafting descriptions as I used to go frequently with an old boss years ago back in Oregon. Mandy got on my nerves a bit at times—she‘s a young 27, but overall I liked it & will read the next in the series. 3d

April 25, 2025 I have not been constantly picking up the book because life is life, but I have been enjoying the book thus far. I hope to finish this soon or by the end of May (before summer) and then choose my next TBR. Not sure which one I will read next: The Chinese Groove by Kathryn Ma or something else...

5 ⭐️ I am both a New Englander *and* a fan of baseball generally/Red Sox specifically, so it wasn‘t a stretch to think that I would enjoy this. Still: while baseball‘s longest game is at its core (without that game, the thread of the book that ties all the individuals together would not exist), this book is less about baseball and more about humanity, humility, and our humble existence on this earth. Every person has a story, friends. ⚾️

#Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

Finished last week for #ThematicCozies April #Sports theme, one of my two picks. I don‘t know that this one is really that sports related. The MC goes to Mackinac Island to help her boss‘s father with his bike shop when he breaks his leg & starts trying to solve a murder when he is accused. There‘s talk of a bike race but most renters are tourists getting around the no-car island. Still it was cute-maybe a little over ⬇️

DebinHawaii …top at times with just how accident prone the MC was, but I overall enjoyed the audiobook (free on Audible) & would listen to the next book in the series. (This is book 1). 1w
TheSpineView Well done!🤩🩷📚 1w
julieclair I‘d read it just for the Mackinac Island setting. I‘ve always wanted to go there! 1w
