This is the final book in The Spellman Files and a satisfying conclusion. I‘m both happy and sad to have finished it. I will miss Izzy and the rest of this dysfunctional detective family, Spellmans and non-Spellmans alike. #seriescatchup #completed

Booksnchill Love the Unit! 5y
Bookzombie @Booksnchill Me too! I also really like Maggie and Demetrius. 5y

Another round of catch up. All of these are picks. Disclaimer: I‘m generous with stars and picks. 🙂

The Map - It was fun to visit with Jackaby and Abigail again.

Liar Liar - Helen Grace series # 4 Maybe not as strong as the first three, but still good.

S is for Silence (audio) - reread

Crippen - I enjoyed this historical murder mystery loosely based on real events.

Love Story, with Murders - Fiona has become a fave! #seriescatchup

As mentioned in my last post, life has been busy so I‘m also way behind (so behind!) on reviews. I listened to all of these on audio over the last several months and they were all picks!

R is for Ricochet - reread

HP book 4 & 5 - rereads

A Gathering of Secrets - A favorite series
#seriescatchup

An Artless Demise - I love this series!#seriescatchup

I‘m not ready to say goodbye to Charley (and maybe, just maybe we‘ll see her and beep again someday)... but boy did Darynda Jones have me going at times... so little I can say without giving away any spoilers... so bittersweet to say goodbye.

It's been...five years(?) since I read the first one, but you don't really need to in order to read this. It would give you context for the characters, but the story is almost completely separate from Willy Wonka's factory. The narration on this one was great. I enjoyed the story as well, but it felt a little more disjointed than the first book. I can see how it probably inspired Douglas Adams in HGttG. Overall, a fun little book. First of 2019!

I'm calling it on 2018! I know this picture is hard to read, but these are the challenges I completed this year. By complete, I mean I reached my goals. I may have stretched the requirements a bit. I might post about the incomplete ones tomorrow--undecided. Pretty successful year, although not as successful as I'd originally planned. #seriescatchup #readaroundtheworld #IdRatherBeReading #nonfiction2018

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Great job! And great challenges! I need to do a series catch-up really badly too! 5y
Izai.Amorim Happy new year, Hannah! 5y
readinginthedark @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Thank you! The series catch-up is one I'm doing every year, because I drift away from so many series in the middle. 🙈 But I figure if I tackle at least a few each year, I'll make progress, slowly but surely... 5y

While firefighters are battling wildfires in Glacier National Park, they uncover the bones of a body. Monty, a park police officer, and Gretchen, a CSI, begin investigating, but the case is overshadowed by the search for a missing teen. I enjoy the characters and story, but I especially enjoy the setting of this series. #seriescatchup

DivaDiane Oh! I‘ve been there (my brother moved to Missoula, MT 25 years ago)! Sounds interesting. 6y
Bookzombie @DivaDiane Did you get to go to the park? I bet the area around Missoula is beautiful too. 6y
DivaDiane Yes, I‘ve been to Glacier several times, that‘s what I meant. Missoula is a great town! 6y

February | Lisa Moore

Here is my crazy conglomeration of progress lists from my reading journal with updates from February! It didn‘t feel like a very successful month, but the book says otherwise! 17 books: 5 audio, 8 GN, 2 ARCs, 1 reread, and 1 Shakespeare. And I double counted some on challenges, so: 1 #ShakespeareReadalong ; 4 #seriescatchup ; 2 #readaroundtheworld ; 8 #LitsyAtoZ ; 1 #nonfiction2018 ; 4 #litsyreadingchallenge ; 1 #IdRatherBeReading ; 2 #ReadHarder

batsy Wow! 🙌🏽😀 6y
Dulcinella Super! 6y
LazyDays @readinginthedark Hi, I'm very interested in your reading journal. I've never done areading journal, I know everyone keeps a journal for many things so I'm curious on how you keep yours? Do you just write down all the books to keep track,Or quotes? I just screenshot everything😊 but since my phone broke I'm thinking about writing it alldown. Sorry if this is to nosie I'm just curious🌈 6y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa That‘s wonderful! Sometimes it takes seeing it written down and looking at it objectively to feel really accomplished. Good for you! 6y
readinginthedark @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I agree; it really helps me! And thank you! 6y
readinginthedark @LazyDays Not nosy at all! Mine has changed over time. When I first started a reading journal I had a blog, so I used it primarily to keep track of my thoughts while reading and to write reviews. Now I write down quotes that I‘d like to remember, authors I need to read more, and I track my reading challenges and personal goals. Mine isn‘t as pretty as some I‘ve seen on Litsy, but I‘m working on giving it more variety. 6y
readinginthedark @LazyDays I can try to post some pictures for you if you‘d like, so you can see how mine has changed. (edited) 6y
LazyDays That makes since. I was thinking of doing that because my phone keeps acting up and I lose all my stuff! Have you kept all your jorunals?Thank you for sharing. 🌈😊 6y
readinginthedark @LazyDays I have! I don‘t go through them very quickly, so I‘m working through my third now. I also have a blank one that‘s ready for when I finish this one, and a little notebook where I write the name of every book I‘ve read (with the exception of picture books with kids) under the month and year. I‘ve had that one since Dec. 1999! I do take pictures of quotes occasionally with my phone but I don‘t have a lot of storage; I don‘t keep them there. 6y
readinginthedark @LazyDays I‘ll try to post some pictures for you tomorrow! 6y
LazyDays How fun! I love that you've kept them! I love looking through all my old memories. I think I'm going to start a few 6y

I forgot to post my reading journal lists to show how much progress I made in January! I have a separate little book where I just record the books I‘ve read each month—18 in January: 11 graphic novels, 4 audiobooks, 3 print, all for public challenges and personal goals! #poetrychallenge #seriescatchup #readaroundtheworld #ireland #iceland #canada #LitsyAtoZ #nonfiction2018 #litsyreadingchallenge #IdRatherBeReading #ReadHarder #netgalley

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Awesome job, and great organization! 👍 6y
readinginthedark @Natasha.C.Barnes @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Thanks! I‘m trying to be better about keeping track than I was last year. 6y

Working my way through this series on my book delivery routes! #seriescatchup

Jprglisa I loved the whole series. He is writing a script for it now. A movie, I think, though a Netflix series would be fun too. 6y
readinginthedark @Jprglisa This will work well on video, I think! Lots of action! 6y
