My all time favourite book, I‘m obsessed with the language and beauty of the writing. I even have an Oscar Wilde tattoo!

Runner up is The Power by Naomi Alderman. Both ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in my book.

@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks #alphabetgame #letterP

truthinfiction I left both of these after beginning. Although, I intend to pick back up Dorian Gray sometime soon. 2mo
Kitta @truthinfiction everyone is different, there‘s some books people love that I can‘t stand 🤷🏻‍♀️. Although I hope you enjoy Dorian Gray if you pick it up again! 2mo
truthinfiction @Kitta Thanks, I think I will. I did enjoy the book but I wasn't able to follow the philosophical discussions between Dorian and the other pretty boy. So, I left it off to come back to it when I would be better able to comprehend. 2mo

⭐️⭐️⭐️ I got an assist on my August #LMPBC book when I found a great audio version for free on Audible! I connected more with the first half where there was more of a story and a plot. The second half was more meditative and seemed to hint at rather than describe a lot of the behavior, and I felt less connected to or invested in the characters at that point. Worth a read if you‘re interested in classics.

Twainy Oh no. I have this clothbound classic. 2mo
fredthemoose @Twainy It‘s worth a read (or just keeping around for display purposes!)—I just wasn‘t that invested in most of the characters by the end and didn‘t care one way or another what happened. 2mo
Twainy I‘m a character reader … I enjoyed the Big Finish radio plays … I bet it ends up a display piece. 2mo
Kitta @Twainy this is one of my favourites! Everyone is different though so I‘d say give it a chance. 2mo

Pickpick

Read this classic for #LMPBC and it was a really interesting one. A lot to ponder here on what "sin" really is and how self-absorption can change us. I felt like Wilde asked a lot more questions than he answered, but he would probably tell you that his job is to ask questions, not answer them lol
@fredthemoose this one is heading your way today!!

KristiAhlers I really enjoyed this read. I picked it up years ago when I was watching Penny Dreadful on what was it showtime? Anyhow, I‘d realized I‘d never read it so did. It was very thought provoking. 2mo
fredthemoose Hooray! I‘ll get mine out next week! 2mo
eeclayton I enjoyed this one, too. And what a gorgeous copy! 😍 2mo

TheAromaofBooks @KristiAhlers - I really had no idea what to expect. My version had what I felt like were a reasonable amount of notes as well, which was helpful - the editor mostly was pointing out differences between the original publication in serial form and what Wilde changed a year later when he published the book as a whole, which turned out to be quite interesting. 2mo
TheAromaofBooks @eeclayton - I was so excited to find this edition at the library discard sale earlier this year!! Can't beat a lovely hardcover for a quarter!! 2mo
fredthemoose I got it today! Thanks!! 2mo

And here's a bookmark and a book that I actually bought. 😅 I've read De profundis a few years ago, and it definitely confirmed that I'm a Wilde stan. 😅😄📚📚📚
