I‘m currently 35% of the way through this and I‘m really enjoying it!
so-soA frustrating book! Frustrating because it's like an unfinished sculpture: inside there is a true fantasy classic, where dreamy depictions of the spirit world lay aside comical satire of a community in the grip of 'progress', yet undone by greed and thirst for power. But there needs to be 100-200 pages chiseled away from neverending scenes of partying, fighting, more partying, more fighting, dragging on indefinitely.
pickJagua traveled to Lagos in her youth to make it in the big city. When we meet her in her 40s things haven‘t gone as planned, she‘s meeting men at Tropicana in exchange for many and at the same time she has a relationship with a 20 yr younger man. And then things take a turn.

I've started Butter Honey Pig Bread for #Nigeria
So far so good! There is so much food in this book... One of the characters makes a salted caramel chocolate cake (we basically get the whole recipe, including oven temp). It's making me very hungry...
