I'm lagging behind bad, normally by this time of the year I'll already be looking forward to the next instalment in the series come next year 😊. I think I have like three or more to catch up with lol

Rogue scientists set out to save the earth (Gaia) by planning to unleash a killer virus that will kill millions of people. Lucas Davenport and his daughter, Letty along with a strong cast of familiar and new characters, are tasked with stopping the viral release. Lots of thrills, lots of killings. The final pages were surprisingly anticlimactic. Not the strongest Sandford entry, but I did stay up entirely too late reading to the end.
Perfect vacation read, except for the part that this is a virus gone wild mystery. Now I want to hibernate and avoid crowded spaces. Like work.
Seriously though, this was another solid Lucas Davenport novel and I loved seeing how Lucas and his daughter Letty interacted as professionals.
This fulfills my #DoubleSpin for #Bingo and it's a #SeriesLove2024.
1. Lucas Davenport from the Prey series by John Sandford. I‘ve been reading this series for decades!
2. Virgil Flowers—one of Lucas‘s friends who got his own spinoff series.
3. Harry Dresden from the Dresden Files. I love a good magical detective!

Making my way through the Lucas Davenport series. When I started this series years ago, I think I started with book 11 or 12. Night Prey is #6

Really disappointed in this one. I really liked another book by this author so was expecting this to be good but found it repetitive and slow. Everything was laid out too conveniently and nothing was left to the imagination. I got bored waiting for things to happen. Not enough action, surprises, twists and turns for me. Plus the editor missed some clangers which annoyed me.
Finished my first book for #wintergames yesterday. I listened to probably 90% of this one. Richard Ferrone was such a great narrator 🥹

1) I work tomorrow but I get off early so I‘ll either come home and read or watch a Disney Christmas movie
2) There are a couple books I didn‘t get to from my TBR for this month so I‘m going to start with those first. First book is Winter Prey by John Sandford
