Ask Again, Yes: A Novel | Mary Beth Keane

#LitsyResolutions. I have my #LitsyAtoZ2020 books moved to their own small books shelf. I am hoping @BookishMarginalia will be hosting again. I will carry on with reading one classic and one non fiction choice each month. I hope to participate in more buddyreads not just read the book 🙂

BookishMarginalia Yes! I‘ll be hosting #LitsyAtoZ again in 2020! 4y
Deblovestoread @BookishMarginalia Woot woot! Thank you! 4y

I have a few #LitsyResolutions for 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣0️⃣: 💠Stop adding books to my #TBR until I have cleared out a quarter of my list. 💠Read at least an hour a day during the week; it relaxes me & helps me unwind. 💠Donate/Sell/Giveaway books I have no intention in reading again

Ladyval05 Those are great resolutions! 4y
MoonWitch94 @Ladyval05 thank you! 😊 4y
TheAromaofBooks I am ongoing with paring down the books I own and am never going to read again. Depending on what types of books you have, Paperback Swap is a fun way to get rid of some and find some others. 4y

MoonWitch94 @TheAromaofBooks ohhh I will have to check that out! Thanks for the tip 😊 4y
TheSpineView Good luck! I could never quit buying books. I applaud you for trying! 4y
MoonWitch94 @TheSpineView 🤣😂 It‘s going to be quite the challenge & honestly, I give myself till Valentines Day 🙃😉 4y
TheSpineView @MoonWitch94 I doubt I would make it that far! 😄 4y
TheAromaofBooks haha I have to say that the only problem with Paperback Swap is the concept is that you're trading a book for a book so... it may not actually help with the reduction aspect! :-D 4y

#litsyresolutions I LOVE planning out resolutions and goals - I also do monthly goals for myself in my enormous planner, I guess I love having plans to stick to and feeling like I‘m making progress. So I have lots:

- Read at least 50% books by people of colour and women
- Read 50+ books from my owner tbr (books I own as of January 1)
- Participate in more challenges etc but probably not swaps just for budget reasons unless they‘re small ones

Scochrane26 Those are good goals. I‘m with you on the 2nd one. 4y
ljuliel I‘ll bet everyone in here wants to do #2. We all seem to have the same disorder. 4y

My #LitsyResolutions #2020 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1) To get back on track with #NetGalley 2) Write more reviews

MidnightBookGirl I have so many eArcs on Edelweiss that it's ridiculous, but I am trying! And yes to more reviews! 4y

My #litsyresolutions are:
📚 Read more broadly. I tend to stick with the same genres, same authors. I need to expand my reading horizons
📚 Post more reviews. I think I may go over board on my life posts or events I'm in. Next year I want to try to review every book I read.
📚 Make it fun! For a bit, posting felt like a chore. I want it to be fun again, so more things I love! Q&A's, readathons, swaps!!
@MidnightBookGirl

MidnightBookGirl I love the idea of more reviews! I definitely want to comment more. I plan on reposting about #LitsyResolutions closer to January, it just struck me today so I went with it! 4y

I think my resolution needs to be not being such a mood reader. This time last year I had planned to read through several series and I think I read through about 2. Occasional spontaneous reads are fine but I'm out of control 😂 Also I would like to commit myself to using Litsy more than my other social media. I never regret it. @MidnightBookGirl #LitsyResolutions

ljuliel I‘m wondering if your Mood Reading might inhibit planning ahead, say with the series you wanted to get further in ? If you‘re like me in my reading, the more of a schedule or structure I try to put on myself, the less I want to read those books. I just try to pick a book at a time, read wherever the wind blows me. It seems to be more productive that way. 4y
MidnightBookGirl I'm a mood reader too, but between running a bunch of book clubs and needing to review arcs for the bookstore, I've learned to be both mood and structured. It took awhile! 4y
MatchlessMarie @ljuliel I'm very much a list person. But when I am under stress sometimes I self sabotage my goals. I should probably make room for occasional mood reads in my 2020 reading goals. 4y

MatchlessMarie @MidnightBookGirl I need to learn this skill for 2020! 4y
Bookzombie I know there is at least one Litten who pulls 10 books at a time for her TBR. Maybe you could still mood read but have a smaller selection to structure you some. 4y

2020 will soon be upon us, and one of my New Year's Resolutions is something I'm already working on- to post more often on Litsy. I took part in #Scarathalon in October and I'm doing #NFNov now, with #WinterGames coming up soon, and I noticed that I posted lots of Blurbs, but did not Review lots of the books I read. So that's something I need to fix! What are your #LitsyResolutions for 2020? I know it's a bit early, but I can't wait!

Insightsintobooks I agree with you, I need to post more reviews. 4y
Reviewsbylola That‘s a great resolution! 4y
Eggbeater Great resolution! My resolutions are to post more comments on people's posts and to try to welcome more new people. 4y
Kaila-ann Posting more comments and actually engaging with people‘s posts 😊. 4y
