The End of the Romanovs | Victor Alexandrov

I‘ve always had a fascination with the Romanovs, and apparently my grandfather did too. This was from his personal collection and has his bookplate inside. Published in 1966, the price on the inside bookflap is $6.50. 😆

The Sacred Willow: Four Generations in the Life of a Vietnamese Family | Duong Van Mai Elliott

#ImperialMarch made me think of this book, which I read for college. Not exactly imperial, but it made me think of the struggles one family witnessed as Vietnam changed leadership and foreign control, and, ultimately, a look at how divided the country came. It‘s a narrative filled with sorrow, but yet also with hope. It‘s even more touching as the author wrote about her family. #SoaringScores

CarolynM @Libby1 What did you see? We were lucky enough to see his Dickens show when he toured Australia with it quite a few years ago now. It was wonderful! There was an extraordinary silence and stillness in the audience you only get with a really exceptional performance. 5y
