My favorite #ImmigrantStory ❤️

This audio version is especially good.

For a long time I have wanted to read (and not yet got to 😳) a Lisa See book. This one seems to fit the #Immigrantstory theme very well, so think I will aim to give this one a try. Has anyone read it? Any thoughts on it?
It sounds a fascinating story and rated at 3.88 on Goodreads.

Susanita I loved it! 6y

ephemeralwaltz Sounds interesting thanks for posting! 6y
Andrew65 @ephemeralwaltz It does, doesn‘t it! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm I loved this one and all of her others as well! Great author! 6y
Andrew65 @TheFunkyBookworm Thanks for this 😊 6y
Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks How frustrating is that, the library has the sequel but not the tagged book! 😡 6y
Ingerella The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane would work as well. That's a really good one too! 6y
Andrew65 @Ingerella Thanks, I check that one out. 😊 6y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Andrew65 darn!!!! 😡😡😡 6y
Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Our library system locally seems to have bizarre buying policies, why have the sequel and not the original book. I can get the sequel as a physical and ebook but doesn‘t have the first book in any form. May have to use an audiobook credit! 6y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Andrew65 that is really odd!!!! 6y
Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Far from the first time I have found that. The librarian I spoke to last week had never even heard of Daphne Du Maurier. Now that is worrying! 😱😳 (edited) 6y
Abby2 It‘s good but not my fav Lisa see. Tea girl of hummingbird lane or snow flower were my favs. 6y
Andrew65 Thanks for that information @Abby2 , I think my local library has both of these! 😊 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 I‘ve only read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan which I really enjoyed. @Abby2 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Ingerella @Weaponxgirl @ephemeralwaltz @TheFunkyBookworm 6y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @EadieB I‘ve read China Dolls and I loved it!! 6y

This #immigrantstory story reveals the sad prejudice faced by Koreans in Japan, something I'd never been aware of before. #readingwomenmonth @thereadingwomen

For the first time in a long time I have a night to myself. Enjoying a wonderful Peruvian dinner and finally starting my #litsypartyofone. Decided to go with YA so I can hopefully finish it tonight. Also a wv book festival author so can gear up for that. #mamaonvacation #letterY #litsyatoz #immigrantstory #daca

Pickpick

A great book club pick. Two sisters immigrate from Ireland to Dorchester and have to make difficult choices. Faith, motherhood, family, love. It's all here. I felt sympathetic to the plight of both sisters and became quite attached to the whole rafferty clan. #immigrantstory #bookriot #mmd #litsylrc #immigration #lrc #lrc2017
