It‘s your basic Beauty and Beast plot which makes it somewhat predictable. The world of fae is well designed and mysterious. The plot expands and becomes a bit more complex. I‘d recommend it to fantasy lovers.

Good upper elementary book about divorced parents it was all resolved rather easily and the shooting part seemed a bit unlikely.

So sad but really important. Easy to read but no pulled punches. It tells the story of a black boy wrongfully shot. The perspectives of most participants are shared. It covers the historical perspective and suggests hope for the future.

Very interesting story. The modern part was a basic romance tale. However the historical story was fascinating and well told.

This middle grade historical fiction is very special. The main characters are relatable even in an unfamiliar setting. The history is terrible but clearly and safely portrayed.
