I'd say this was forgettable chick lit, except that it stirred up a lot of old feelings around being a full time mother of small children. Not, I hasten to add, that my husband is anything like the ego-driven, selfish SOB depicted here.

Heart's Blood | Juliet Marillier

I love fairy tale retellings, and this retelling of Beauty and the Beast came at just the right time. It was a bit predictable at times, and maybe a bit too neat (I like my fairy tales darker), but overall it was a great story to disappear into during my commute.
