March: Book One | John Robert Lewis, Andrew Aydin, Nate Powell
post image

I just finished March during #LitsyPartyofOne @Ambrosnazzy More posts to come in association with #LetsGetGraphicWeekLongMarathon @Clwojick @TricksyTails

Clwojick Wooot woot! I've been wanting to read this! Can't wait to see some more posts 😆 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage I loved this series! We just watched Letterman interview Obama on Netflix and unexpectedly saw a lot of John Lewis in that episode. He‘s an inspiration! 6y

Yes, Chef: A Memoir | Marcus Samuelsson

Pickpick

I first heard of Samuelsson's story when I was binge watching Chopped one day and he mentioned being adopted from Ethiopia by a Swedish couple. I immediately wanted to know more so picked up his book. This memoir takes an in depth look at cultures, race, and family all through the lens of food and cooking. One of the best memoirs I've read.

Promise in the premise, but underwhelming in the undertaking. I would have liked to see a little less looping and excess in the writing and more character and plot development. I loved the idea, and even the structure of the narrative, but it didn't deliver everything I wanted. #ERMadlibs #Exclamation #PlayingCatchUp

Short and sweet, and it answered questions I was left with after reading the original three! ☀️☀️☀️🌤 #epicreadsmadlibs #exclamation @EpicReads #LitsyAtoZ @BookishMarginalia

I'm off today, so my #litsypartyofone was able to start this morning 😃. I've been listening to this audiobook while doing a few chores, but my injured knee is giving me problems again (waiting on a MRI) so now I'll be on the couch with my legs elevated, my heating pad, and one or two furry ones sneaking onto my lap while I listen 😻😊 I think I'll also use this for my #Exclamation category for the #ERMadlibs reading challenge!

Suelizbeth Those of us still at work are mighty jealous. Come on 5 o'clock! 7y

Pickpick

The narrator for the audio version, Christina Moore, did an excellent interpretation of the emotions described in this epistolary account. The twists & turns in a teenager's life can be stressful. Being alert to their needs & actions is critical. This book proves it. #LetterG #LitsyAtoZ @BookishMarginalia #MountTBR #LitsyReadingChallenge @jessica #SetInThe1970s @EclecticReaders #Exclamation #MadLibReadingChallenge2017

Gina This book has always fascinated me. I did some research and find out and is not a memoir but a book written by I think a teacher who wanted to keep teenagers off of drugs and to show how bad they were which is why it is written by anonymous. But still a very good work on its own. 7y
Godmotherx5 @Gina I was surprised to hear the background when I learned of it. The fact that it has been banned is also amazing. 7y
