This is my starting plan for #MarchMadness, although I am sure as usual I will occasionally veer away from this list. Going freestyle so not setting a target, but would like to read at least 25 books.

But main aim is to get my reading mojo back which has really hit the buffers in the second half of February.

Andrew65 @Ann_Reads Thanks been a funny few weeks where just feel flitty and as off Centre. It will turn around. 😁

Not flirty as it was autocorrected to at first 🫣😂

#Chunkstersof2023 Time to start on the second chunkster of the year. Small print, no margins, 1036 pages.

EadieB I‘ll put it on for February! 1y
Tove_Reads @EadieB 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 It‘s my February book as well, but oh so many pages, so starting early 🙃 1y
Freespirit Oh I read this years ago.. it was marvellous 1y
Andrew65 Hope you enjoy it, will watch your review with interest. 1y

So Help Me God | Mike Pence

I finished this final. It's a chunkster. Over 500 pages. After reading this, Pence should have been President, instead of Trump. Book from his childhood to the end of VP term. I thought it was very good.

It hit a lot of my challenges.

#Chunkstersof2023 Here are some chunksters I own and ought to read soon. @Andrew65 and I plan on reading a chunkster a month in 2023. Anyone else interested? @EadieB

EadieB I got some chunksters hanging around my house! I‘ll join in and read them! 1y
Tove_Reads @eadieb 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Was pretty sure you would have “a few” just hanging around 😂🤷🏼📚 1y
EadieB @Tove_Reads I have to go dig them out! I‘ll post them when I find them! 1y

Andrew65 Used to love James Michener but most probably not read him in 0 or more years, sure they should be available on archive.org. I‘m keen to give anything a try.
I also have a few Chunksters by Edward Rutherfurd on my Kindle, they‘re usually great reads & remind me a bit of Michener.
I‘ll be sorting my library out in Jan, needs an overhaul again so will see what other Chunksters I have. We should possibly target a point in the month to start them.
1y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 @eadieb I think some Micheners might take me the whole month to finish 🤣 But, let me know if you find something interesting. Would be fun to read a few as buddyreads! Yes, I have some Rutherfords as well. I still haven‘t sorted out my library after my move, but found these few fairly quickly. 1y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Same for Rutherfurd, they are BIG books. 1y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 Indeed. I like big books and I cannot lie 🤣🤣🤣 But it would give us time to figure out the reading routine if we have the full month. Happy to discuss the same books we choose to read at the end of those months! 1y
Andrew65 Yes I was just thinking of a start date during the month for each one, e‘g. 15th and can then read as we can fit them in before the 15th of the next month and the next book. Need to decide if we are all reading the same book or reading our own Chunksters. Would be better if we read the same ones obviously. (edited) 1y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 Works for me. I think it‘ll be a mix of reading the same and reading our own. Should we do what we did some years ago? Suggest several books, all 3 of us, and then vote, and pick one from everyone‘s list? @EadieB 1y
EadieB @Tove_Reads @Andrew65 sounds good to me. Let me know what we are reading and when. 1y
Andrew65 @EadieB Sounds good to me too @Tove_Reads 1y
Tove_Reads @eadieb @andrew65 We could do a buddy read of chunkster every second month, so we choose two books from all of our suggestion lists. That also give us time to finish the book within two months if life gets in the way. 1y
Tove_Reads @eadieb @andrew65 Any two of these you prefer? 1y
EadieB @Tove_Reads doesn‘t matter to me. @Andrew65 I can get any of these from my library so check with Andrew to see what he can get. (edited) 1y
Tove_Reads @eadieb Yes, waiting for his choices. It‘ll be a tough year 🤣 Happy to be distracted by books, so not a problem! Had a tough day today so discussing books made my day. @andrew65 1y
Andrew65 @EadieB @Tove_Reads I‘m fairly easy and they are all available on archive.org, but I do fancy Alaska. 1y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Always good to discuss books and what we are reading. Hope the day improves. 1y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 Might go for Archive myself because I‘m not used to holding chunksters in my hands anymore 🤣 1y
Tove_Reads Looks like 2023 will be a great year of historical fiction. Read very few this year. Been too focused on crime. Feel like a serial killer 🤣🤣🤣 I‘ll read all four, but should we go for Alaska and Rome as buddy reads? @andrew65 @eadieb Now only waiting for Andrew‘s suggestions 1y
EadieB @Tove_Reads Alaska and Rome sound good to me. @Andrew65 1y
Andrew65 @EadieB Happy with those 😊@Tove_Reads 1y
