Outlander | Diana Gabaldon
post image

Thanks to my book sister @sprainedbrain for tagging me!! ♥️🤗
1) Maybe... Game of Thrones🤔
2) Being so addicted to Harry Potter when I was 17 I would wake up from my sleep just to read it. When I discovered Outlander. Reading my first Austen.
3) Jaime Fraser!! (outlander) Rhysand!! 😍(ACOMAF) Mr Darcy!! (Pride & Prejudice) George Hazelton (a lady‘s guide) Stoker (a curious beginning series) I‘m sure there are more 🤣
@Eggs #wonderouswednesday

sprainedbrain Love your answers!! And you‘ve just added two to my tbr. ❤️❤️❤️ 2w
Eggs Love this post❤️💗❤️ 2w
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain I hope you love them!! ♥️just a word of caution for them both 😅 lol. So “A Curious Begining” series is my fave of the two, but the first book is slow until the end. Still this series is an autobuy for me. It‘s more character driven and I also have a slight feeling of home within the pages. There‘s not even one character I don‘t like. lots of strong female characters, fun cozy mystery and sexual tension between MC‘s 😉 (edited) 2w
See All 6 Comments
HOTPock3tt And regarding “A lady‘s guide to etiquette and murder” series these books are really only cozy mysteries and nothing else. I love the characters and enjoy the relationship of the MC‘s... but it‘s one of those book series you read just to enjoy the setting of London in the 1800‘s, If you know what I mean 🤔😂 @sprainedbrain btw, I feel like I give you the most RANDOM descriptions and you still understand them!! Lol 😆 #BookSister (edited) 2w
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt yeah, we seem to get each other! 😂 I appreciate your words of caution, but I am going to check these out for sure! 1w
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain Oh I adore them both!! 😍I just didn‘t want you to be stuck on a slow part and thinking “why in the world did she say this is so awesome?!” 😂 1w

Darcy Swipes Left | Jane Austen, Courtney Carbone

Omg this one was a WIN!!! 👏😍🎉 A quick fun modernized version of the classic story!! With a fresh social media twist! I can‘t believe how well it fit the story. The entertainment factor on this was brilliant and I laughed out loud a lot. I will probably end up buying a copy of this for my collection 😉

HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain I added this one after your review and man it was hilarious!! I loved Darcy‘s character (as always!) and when Lizzy told lady Catherine “bye Felicia” omg CLASSIC!! 🤣 how long have we all been wanting to say that to her!! 😀 btw do you have any recommendations for P&P continuations? I want to read some Lizzy and Darcy married life ones! 😎 (edited) 2mo
sprainedbrain It‘s so funny! I was rolling at Lady Catherine signing her messages, and then when Lizzie did it, too. And Mr. Collins. 😂 2mo
sprainedbrain As for continuations, I really haven‘t read many and would love to find some good ones. I read Death Comes to Pemberley, but it was just a so-so. I did like The Clergyman‘s Wife (thanks to your rec), but as you know, not lots of the Darcy‘s there. I found this list and might try some of them: https://bookriot.com/2018/04/21/pride-and-prejudice-sequels/. Have you read any of those? 2mo
See All 11 Comments
HOTPock3tt Lady Catherine was like “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!”😡And Lizzy was like “yeah you keep signing all your text messages” 🙄Lmfao!! 😂 @sprainedbrain and thanks for the list!! 😃♥️ I haven‘t read any of those and have only heard of 2 of them!! Last summer, I started reading “Mr Darcy Takes A Wife” and it was sexy!! 😃 but I got hung up on a slow part (with different characters) and never finished it 😖 (edited) 2mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt hmmm. I might try Mr. Darcy takes a wife. 😂 2mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain there were some real 🔥 🔥 🔥 scenes in there, I‘m telling you! 😍🙌🏽 2mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt That would be why I would try it, probably. I think I‘ve seen some bad reviews for that one, and if my #booksister couldn‘t finish it, chances are I won‘t like it either. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2mo
HOTPock3tt I enjoyed the hot scenes! 😎 but there were new characters in some parts with SLANG that was so REGIONAL and so old I couldn‘t manage to plow through it (that‘s where I got stuck 😕) and the language throughout the book was very archaic 🙁 Jane Austen‘s books are not difficult to read... but in Mr Darcy Takes A Wife the author used such archaic language I had to keep looking up words so it was hard to just flow with the story.😪 @sprainedbrain (edited) 2mo
HOTPock3tt Not just that... the new characters were boring @sprainedbrain *Sigh* if only she could‘ve just continued with the hot scenes lol 🤣 2mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt that‘s an odd choice... as you say, Austen‘s books are easy to read so not sure why anyone would want to make the language for a sequel more difficult. Especially if you‘re taking it way trashier than Jane ever got. 😂 2mo
HOTPock3tt I know right? If it‘s trashier we should be able to just turn our brains off and enjoy!! 😎 not have to get a dictionary out lol @sprainedbrain 2mo

Well, it‘s been quite a year! Here‘s the list of my top #19in2019 ♥️ With my fave one in the center. 😉 This was the year I fell in love with the faerie realm, finally finished the entire Harry Potter series and finally read The Picture of Dorian Gray, Jane Eyre & The Handmaid‘s Tale. With some Tudors history, YA & LGBTQ as well! ☺️ All in all, it was a very good year! 🤗 🎵

KarenUK Great list! 💕 2mo
HOTPock3tt @KarenUK Thank you! 💖 2mo
Cinfhen I‘m planning on reading a few of these already!!! Now I‘m excited to know they topped your reading year 🤗🤗🤗 2mo

BarbaraBB I love the variation in what you have read! 2mo
HOTPock3tt @Cinfhen I hope you love them as much as I did!!! 😃💝 I started “The American Kingpin” from your list today and I love it so far 😎 (edited) 2mo
HOTPock3tt @BarbaraBB Thanks! 💗 I really love to mix up my genres! ☺️ I even read a few memoirs this year and was shocked how much I loved them! 😀 (edited) 2mo
sprainedbrain What a great bunch of books! I see a couple still on my tbr... ❤️ 2mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain Hopefully you will love them! Although I think it‘s possible you will since we have such similar tastes 😎 #BookSister!! ♥️ it‘s because of you that I read 2 of my fave books of the year “ACOMAF” (the whole series actually) and “The Handmaid‘s Tale” both of which I literally bought and PAID for based on your review alone! And they both left me with such a book hangover I‘m STILL not quite recovered! Lol! 🤣♥️🙌🏽 (edited) 2mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt Yes, I can usually count on enjoying books that you recommend. I‘m still so happy that you loved ACOMAF and The Handmaid‘s Tale! Looking forward to reading with you in the new year, #BookSister. 💕 2mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain I‘m looking forward to it as well! 🤗💞#BookSister (edited) 2mo

I finished catching up with my feed for the last couple of days. I actually read the posts from the people I follow, and I have learned some things.

Please accept my apologies, as I may have been annoying people and Litsy-ing all wrong since May 2016. Sorry for all of the non-book posts, swapping, linking to my blog in some of my reviews, not posting or commenting enough, being a Halloween freak, tagging books wrong, being boring, etc.🤪

sprainedbrain I love this community and all of the great book friends I‘ve made here. I love how much more I have read every year since joining, and I love that I am always adding new-to-me and exciting books I wouldn‘t have know about without Litsy to my tbr. 4mo
sprainedbrain I love seeing what you‘re reading, what you‘ve been up to, how your pet is, your funny memes, what you got in the mail today, what you made for dinner, what your reading plans are, your kids, your spouse, your houseplants. I love that I can fail miserably at photo challenges and readalongs and not be judged. 😂 4mo
sprainedbrain I love that I can do Litsy my way and you can do Litsy your way. I also love that I can keep scrolling if I‘m not interested, mute hashtags, and unfollow at will. I promise my feelings won‘t be hurt if you unfollow me, because honestly I‘m probably not going to do things any differently moving forward. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 4mo

SW-T I enjoy reading your posts. You read lots of interesting books and I enjoy seeing what you‘re reading next 😊 4mo
Insightsintobooks I love how you do litsy. I love that everyone can do litsy in their own way. And I love seeing everyones posts even if they aren't always book related! 4mo
4thhouseontheleft I like you (and your posts) just the way you are! 💜 4mo
sprainedbrain @SW-T right back at you, Sallie! 🤗 4mo

JSW Do what you like and what has meaning for you! ❤️ Litsy is big enough for all of us. 4mo
AmyG You were doing things wrong in the first place? I so enjoy following you and reading your posts. Don‘t change. 4mo
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego There is no such thing as Litsy-ing wrong! Keep doing what you are doing. 4mo
Come-read-with-me @sprainedbrain You are PERFECT!!! Keep it up! 💫 4mo
4thhouseontheleft It seems I have been annoying people too, now that I had a look through that Litsy questionnaire # 🤷🏻‍♀️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @4thhouseontheleft YOU keep doing you. Love your posts and everything you‘ve organized. ❤️ 4mo
Texreader I love following you! Don‘t change a thing!!! 😘. You too @4thhouseontheleft ! Keep all the posts coming! People can sail right by the ones they don‘t like. 4mo
sprainedbrain @Kimberlone @Tamra @Mimi28 @Craftylikefox @JSW @AmyG @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego @Come-read-with-me Thank you! I wasn‘t fishing for compliments, I swear. Just hoping people aren‘t getting discouraged by some of the things going around, and I‘m perhaps a teensy bit sarcastic. 😂 4mo
quietjenn *shrug* I'm glad I found you, via one of those silly swaps 😉 4mo
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I'm with you. I don't care for the tone, and mild and hopefully unintended post shaming going on right now. This is supposed to be a supportive, safe, and positive place. Let's get back to that! ❤📚 4mo
Eggbeater I really like following you. For what it's worth. 4mo
Jennifer3 I love your posts and I love you Litsy! I post some non-book stuff too! 4mo
Lcsmcat @sprainedbrain @4thhouseontheleft Not everyone filled out that questionnaire because many of us like Litsy the way it is. A “creed” in my faith says it best: all may, some should, none must. ❤️ all the Littens. 4mo
Ddzmini I didn‘t notice anything I like our conversation and everything you have on Litsy 🤗 so Litsy on 📖😋🙌🏽 4mo
merelybookish You're one of the original Littens! What would Litsy be without you?! 4mo
LibrarianRyan You are awesome. There is almost no wrong way to Litsy. I like you, you like you, and so do lots of others. Everyone else, it‘s their own thing. Do what you want, when you want. 😍😃👍 4mo
Tamra @sprainedbrain sarcasm is good. 😏 4mo
Chrissyreadit I think Litsy is fine the way it is and I invite others to join one toe in, wade in carefully or jump in the deep end -there will be others waiting in any location. 4mo
erank58 Keep on doing what you do-- I know that for me, Litsy is a place I can truly be myself, and I hope that's the case for others in the community. I love it for what it is and the people on here 😊 4mo
Bookzombie I‘m very frustrated with this whole survey thing. I didn‘t do it. I‘m happy with Litsy. When I‘m not interested I scroll past or mute a hashtag. @sprainedbrain @4thhouseontheleft I have followed you both for a long time. Please don‘t change! You are lovely just as you are. 4mo
Branwen There is no wrong way to litsy! And @4thhouseontheleft that goes for you too! *hugs for everyone* I love seeing your posts! You're amazing! Keep on litsy-ing, friends! 💕📚 4mo
Kalalalatja Seriously, you do you, and embrace your “annoying” qualities 😉 4mo
BarbaraBB I had to laugh reading your post and that it‘s a little bit sarcastic! I‘m happy with how we‘re doing things here. Let‘s not take thinks too seriously. Everyone can post what they like and scroll by or mute posts they don‘t like. 💕 I like following you and all the things you do “wrong” 😀 (edited) 4mo
marleed I love following you. You do you! 4mo
LeahBergen Yassss! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 4mo

Reggie Lol, you‘re one of my Litsy OG‘s and always will be. ❤️ 4mo

mabell This is awesome! You summed it all up perfectly. Reading the posts today had me all - WW Jenni D - and you totally came through! 😂🤣 4mo
sprainedbrain @Chrissyreadit very well said! 4mo
sprainedbrain @erank58 I agree with you completely! 😃 4mo
sprainedbrain @Bookzombie @Branwen Thank you, friends! ❤️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @Kalalalatja @BarbaraBB I will continue to do annoying, wrong things. 😘❤️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @marleed Right back at you! ❤️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @BookwormM Ok you just made me giggle. 😆😘 4mo
sprainedbrain @Reggie Same, Reggie! ❤️❤️❤️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @mabell I wasn‘t going to say anything... but I struggle with not saying anything. 😂 ❤️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @quietjenn Yay for awesome swap partners! ❤️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @Eggbeater it means a lot! I love your posts and your taste in books. ❤️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @Jennifer3 @Lcsmcat @Ddzmini I‘m just happy that everyone here does it how they want. What a great community! ❤️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @merelybookish I‘m sure it would survive 😂. I am so glad that so many have stayed active since the first year, and happy to still Litsy with you! ❤️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @LibrarianRyan Haha, that book tag was 👌🏻. Thanks, Ryan! ❤️ 4mo
Chrissyreadit I‘m really glad you posted by the way, because after I completed it I saw it in a different light- I think litsy is fine. I‘m curious as to what @TimSpalding would say needs to happen for sustainability on their end, but it needs to meet a wide range of interests and personalities of readers on a platform and amazingly it does that. The only thing I would change is searching the tbr- with over 1,000 books on mine its difficult to maintain. 4mo
ljuliel My intentions with doing the questions was to give people the opportunity to voice their opinions . I read through every single one and didn‘t see anyone being rude or disrespectful. If you ask 100 people for an opinion, you‘ll get 100 different responses . Everyone likes different parts of Litsy. There‘s no wrong way to DO Litsy. Just post whatever you want. 4mo
sprainedbrain @ljuliel I didn‘t say anyone was being rude or disrespectful, and everyone is certainly entitled to their opinions. I follow a lot of people, and I saw many posts and comments indicating that people disliked a lot of things I do and have done regularly, and I figured that there may be others who also saw some of that and were disheartened. It is odd to see people wishing for more activity here and also wanting less of some types of posts. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @Chrissyreadit I agree that there are many things that could enhance the experience, and making the tbr more functional is at the top of my list. I just would hate to see limits on the social side of things. I love the community. 4mo
Shadowfat I really like everything about this post and all the wonderful comments of support! I joined Litsy to share my love of books with people as passionate as I am. Plus I enjoy the pet and food pics too 😁🐕🍝. Also I enjoy how supportive everyone is when you have a bad day or health issues! 4mo
ljuliel I‘ve sorta learned in life that you‘ll never please everyone . No matter what you do, someone will find fault with it. I think you‘re a really valid member ( as everyone else is) , and we each add our own flavor to the mix, for lack of a better term. All those flavors are needed to make Litsy what it is. I‘m sorry if anyone offended you. I‘m sure lots of other people post the same things as you, so I don‘t think anyone was pinpointing one person. 4mo
ljuliel I also think that all of the extra things help to make Litsy unique. I like seeing what someone made for supper, funny pictures of pets, things that are happening in daily life. It makes it more interesting. The one comment that came up a lot is that book posts had gone down , so that‘s why I‘m hoping to promote that. I don‘t see that anything needs eliminated. 4mo
Chrissyreadit 🥰my name is Chrissyreadit and I may be addicted to swaps, pet pics, food posts and books....oh- and challenges...buddy reads... conversations...sigh- I have no desire to stop. 🤣📚😎📚 4mo
youneverarrived You‘re one of my faves on here 💕 4mo
vivastory You know I think you're the cat's pajamas. 🙌 4mo
readordierachel I love all your posts 💞 Keep on keeping on 4mo
sprainedbrain @ljuliel no, I didn‘t feel pinpointed or offended it all. I was more concerned with other, newer people seeing some of that and bing scared off. I have read 180 books this year and posted at least a review, sometimes a blurb, for every one. I‘m here for the books, but the friends are nice too. 4mo
ljuliel Wow, that‘s a really great number for the year ! This was a bit of a poor year for me. I only got to around 50 some so far. Been a challenging year. I‘m hoping for better in the coming year. Thanks for understanding. I really don‘t want to upset anyone in here. I just miss Litsy from a couple years ago, when people posted a book review and you‘d get 100 likes. 4mo
sprainedbrain @ljuliel I know what you mean! It is down a bit. 4mo
sprainedbrain @Shadowfat yes! There are some really great people here. ❤️ 4mo
sprainedbrain @youneverarrived And you‘re one of mine! 😘 4mo
sprainedbrain @vivastory Thanks, my friend. I‘m going to shoot for the bees knees next! 😉 4mo
vivastory It's good to have goals in life 😂 4mo
sprainedbrain @readordierachel Rachel, you are one of my original Litsy buddies! ❤️ 4mo
jillrhudy You get a like for that book title tag 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 4mo
HOTPock3tt You are nowhere NEAR boring!!! 😱 your posts are always fun!! You‘re definitely one of my fave Littens!! ♥️♥️♥️ @sprainedbrain 4mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt surprising no one, I feel the same way about you, #booksister ❤️ 4mo
HOTPock3tt #Booksister ❤️ Don‘t change a thing!! 😎✌️ @sprainedbrain 4mo
Jillylovesbooks @sprainedbrain I‘m relatively new here, but I‘ve enjoyed these past few months on Litsy and I‘ve enjoyed getting to know everyone. Life has limited my posting and getting involved with some of the extra activities here, but I enjoy reading others posts about those activities. I like that Litsy gives everyone opportunities to enjoy it their way. 4mo
sprainedbrain @Jillylovesbooks That‘s my favorite part of Litsy, too! I don‘t participate in everything all the time, but it‘s still fun to follow all of the posts. 😃 4mo
Ddzmini Exactly I like how Litsy is why change a great site 💁🏼‍♀️ 4mo
UwannaPublishme What? Boring? You??? You‘re so much fun to follow. Your reviews are so colorful and honest and your comments crack me up. Keep entertaining us, please. 😁🙌🏻 4mo

sprainedbrain @Ddzmini Indeed! 😃 4mo
sprainedbrain @UwannaPublishme Awww... you are too kind Donna! 😘 4mo
sprainedbrain @Erofan very nice of you to say! 😘 4mo

I feel like I‘ve won the lottery: my hold came in the day after it released. Hooray for requesting ahead of time on Overdrive! 🙌🏻

Now to squeeze it in with all of my other library books and challenge reads. 😬

ATB Lucky 4mo
Crazeedi Isnt it great to be the first one to get a just released book on overdrive? That's happened to me a couple times, its neat cause you know everyone wants to read it!! 4mo
sprainedbrain @Crazeedi it does feel nice! I‘ve waited months and months on hold for plenty so being first every once in a while makes me feel like I need to prepare an acceptance speech and thank my mom. 😂 (edited) 4mo

WorldsOkayestStepMom That's such a pretty book cover! I'm a collector of skeleton keys. 💜💚💜 4mo
Kimberlone It‘s not even available to check out digitally from my library (in ebook or audiobook) :( I caved and used an audible credit to get this because I cannot justify paying more than $20 on a hardback new release 4mo
lele1432 That's exciting! 4mo
sprainedbrain @Kimberlone I was going to spend an audible credit on it, too! I was just waiting to see if the library would get it. I got lucky. 4mo
sprainedbrain @WorldsOkayestStepMom it‘s very pretty😍 4mo
Flaneurette Me too! I put it on hold waaaay back in June. It‘s like winning the lottery 4mo
Kimberlone @sprainedbrain lucky for you! I am waiting until next week when I am on vacation to start listening, but I hope you enjoy! 4mo
Kalalalatja I‘m so jealous 😍😍 4mo
Reggie What she said👍🏽 I am also jealous! 4mo
HOTPock3tt Super jealous!!! 😃 4mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain Let‘s buddy read this one together, Jenni! ♥️ I‘ve decided I need a fun challenge lol. I haven‘t actually done a buddy read before but it should be fun. I was hovering around amazon kindle at midnight on the release date and waiting for this one to come out! I ended up just downloading a sample, but will probably actually buy it. Tell me when you start it and I‘ll start with you! 🤗 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt oh yes, that sounds funny! I‘ve done buddy reads but I‘m terrible at them because I read ahead or fall behind. Mine is a library copy though, so I must have it finished by 4:27 pm on 11/27. 😂 3mo
HOTPock3tt Yay! Ok sounds good! I‘m going to download it then and start tonight! When you do a buddy read how much is expected for the first week? I don‘t exactly know the rules 😅we‘re batting 1000 already since you‘re terrible at them and I don‘t even know the rules lmao!! 🤣🤣🤣 @sprainedbrain we just have to make sure we go thru it quickly enough to be done before you need to return it 🤔 (edited) 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt I think we can make our own rules since it‘s just us. Haha. Looks like it‘s divided into 6 books, and I have 18 days before it‘s due back. So if we read one book every 2-3 days, we should be fine. Is that too fast? Total estimation, but that‘s about 73 pages every 2-3 days. 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt which is making me worried already because if I really like it, I‘m going to finish it way faster than that. 😂😂😂 3mo
HOTPock3tt Ok that‘s fine! 🤗♥️ #Excited @sprainedbrain 3mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain even if you go faster that‘s ok... as long as were reading the same book AROUND the same time so we can chat about it 😎 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt I‘m excited, too! I guess we can just post about what we‘ve read and discuss as we go? ❤️❤️❤️ 3mo
HOTPock3tt Ok we‘ll do that! ❤️❤️❤️ @sprainedbrain 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt perfect! I‘m so glad you suggested this! 3mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain me too!! And it‘s QUITE interesting so far! 😃I started last night... I guess we can do the first discussion after we both finish book one? I‘m listening to the audiobook so hopefully they will tell me when I get to book 2 😅 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt haha you don‘t have to stop on my account! I‘m doing the audio too, starting tonight when I finish my current book. I‘m sure I will go fast. 😬 3mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain I‘m finished with book 1 (and into book 2 lol) whenever you want to chat about it 😎 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt won‘t be long! I‘m so hooked on this book already! 3mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain Me too! I‘m listening in my every waking moment 😂lol (edited) 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt I seem to have passed right in to book 2!! (edited) 3mo
HOTPock3tt I will say this: I adore the espionage in this story surrounding books! 😃Books/fairy tale realms somehow being dangerous material people are trying to protect ‘by any means necessary‘ 😂 also the place he is trying to explore after his lost opportunity ie. finding himself WITHIN the story but things REALLY started to move for me with the masquerade ball and the new players he met! ✨♥️You‘ve passed that already right? OMG! 😍 @sprainedbrain (edited) 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt YES! I want to go to a party like that. 😍 3mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain Me too! Someone dressed as Edgar Allen Poe, women with dresses made of pages, literary themed DRINKS!! 🍷 and famous authors in attendance! Omg what if Atwood was there?! 😍🎉 I also loved Dorian naming himself after picture of Dorian Gray (I loved that book!) and the sinister fur coat lady who threatened to kill his mom if he so much as TWEETS the existence of the fairy tale realm! 😱🙌🏽♥️ (edited) 3mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain I think I mostly just want to dress up as a literary character and have people try to guess my costume and drink literary themed drinks lol 🍷🤣 I would go as Fayre from ACOMAF. How about you? Which character would you go as? I wanted to dress as her this Halloween but I ended up having to work on Halloween.... (edited) 3mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain what if Deb Harkness was there?! 😃🙌🏽 I would LOVE to pick her brain about the characters of A discovery of witches and Elizabethan England!! ♥️♥️♥️ ok I‘ll stop now lmao! 🤣 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt omg when he saw the ‘famous author‘ I was all like IT‘S STEPHEN KING. HAS TO BE. 😂 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt I would want to go as Clare Fraser from Outlander. That would give me many different styles of dress to choose from. 3mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain That would be AMAZING! 😍You could either do her Scottish home spun or her French high fashion or 1960‘s career woman! not to stray from topic but you‘ve read all the Outlander books too right?😃As soon as I finished the last one, written in my own hearts blood I was sad. I STILL feel like the characters from outlander are the ones I‘ve felt the closest too that I‘ve EVER read. They feel the most life-like if that makes any sense 😂 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt Yes, I‘ve read them all and then listened to them again! You continue proving to be my #booksister. I feel so strongly about those characters, and while I don‘t think any of those books were even 5-star reads for me, when people ask for my favorite books/series, authors, or characters they are always on the list. ❤️ 3mo
HOTPock3tt I know right! #BookSister I‘m STILL shocked by how similar our tastes are! I also feel quite strongly about those characters and I feel like I‘m the most invested in them than any others from any other books. In other books I‘ve read the characters are just ‘the characters‘ but Jaime/Claire +Briana and Jenny etc are THEMSELVES!! have a feeling of being AT HOME when I read the Outlander books that I don‘t have with any other series @sprainedbrain (edited) 3mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain and they weren‘t 5 star books for me either!! 😂 I remember telling someone that outlander was one of my fave series and I was thinking “she‘s going to read my litsy profile and realize I rated most of them “so-so” 🤣 but they are always on my fave lists across the boards (characters/books/series etc) its the attachment to the characters + being so invested in them+ the feeling of home when you read the books... (edited) 3mo
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt EXACTLY. I have legitimate feelings for so many characters in those books. They are like family. 3mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain they really are!! ♥️that‘s the BEST description I‘ve ever heard for it. They are like FAMILY. 3mo

Once in a while a book comes along that reminds you of exactly WHY you read in the first place: This was one of those books for me. It was so thought provoking, it make me evaluate my thinking on so many subjects. It was unique and shocking... yet scary and brilliant I simply could NOT put it down. Cant wait to read more books from this Author!
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️/5
This was a suggestion from my #BookSister @sprainedbrain Thank you SO much! ♥️♥️

HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain I can‘t believe how much I loved this book. I recently started a new job (well... a new area of nursing for me: Kidney/dialysis) and I was fighting to squeeze in time to read this book! I fell in love with the characters! Especially Offred, Moira, nick and ofglen. The way Atwood writes, she is a genius! 😍 (edited) 4mo
sprainedbrain I‘m so glad you loved it! She really is a brilliant writer. I‘ve been slowly working my way through her novels over the last few years and I‘ve loved every one. ❤️ 4mo
HOTPock3tt @sprainedbrain Have you read the blind assassin? I might try that one next 🤔 4mo

ValerieAndBooks I didn‘t read Atwood (this one was the first of hers I read) until relatively recently (couple years ago?) and was mad I hadn‘t done it sooner! The Blind Assassin is very good but I‘d say my favorite of hers so far is 4mo
HOTPock3tt @ValerieAndBooks I‘m also kind of upset it took me THIS long to read one of her books! 😖And thank you so much for the suggestion!! 😍♥️ I will check that one out as well!! 🤗 (edited) 4mo
