#5movies
The Goonies is my favorite movie by far, but all of these rock! I have no idea where this movie thing started, so if anyone knows who should get tagged, go ahead!
Other contenders would be The Dark Crystal, Dirty Dancing, Bound, and the LotR trilogy.

Crystalblu Now that is a list I can get behind! 7y
Soubhiville @Librariana inspired me to play. 7y
Librariana That's a beautiful list, @Soubhiville ! ? "Goonies never say die!" ❤???? @Bostonmomx2 was the fabulous originator ? I believe #5bands might be the current? I need to go take a peek ? 7y

TheLibrarian Great selection! 7y
bookishkai Oh, I LOVE Bound. Haven't seen it in a while. 7y
Bookzombie Love The Goonies, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Lost Boys! 7y
monkeygirlsmama ❤️💜💙❤️💜💙❤️💜💙❤️💜💙❤️ Seems we share several favorites! 7y
Zelma We have very similar taste. 👍💕 7y
Eggs I've seen all of those--great movies 7y
Hooked_on_books I love the Goonies. It was filmed mostly in the county I live in. 💙 7y
Soubhiville @Hooked_on_books I plan someday to come see the beach spot and any other Goonies related sights it's possible to see! I've been to OR and WA once about 20 years ago and it's one of the most beautiful areas of the country I've seen so far. Anyway, when I'm up that way I'd love to hang out with you! 7y
Soubhiville @bookishkris I love it too! GG is dreamy in it... yowza! 7y
Hooked_on_books @Soubhiville That would be cool! I could give you a little Goonies tour. 👍🏼 7y

I really tried to get a decent photo without Chico, but he wasn't having it.

1. Sense and Sensibility
And then everything else-
Die Hard
Laura
Bridget Jones's Diary
Clue

Also the Cornetto trilogy, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, The Ghost and Mrs Muir, Gaslight, Twister, Marie Antoinette, the Thin Man movies (esp Goes Home), Pride and Prejudice, Sneakers...

Librariana Clue!! Oh, Clue is such a great one. It was hard to narrow it down to 5, but it is definitely one I enjoy 😊 7y
Zelma Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are two favorites in our household. Didn't love the third though. 7y
Lcsmcat Why would you try to get a photo without the 😺? He's so cute. 7y
LauraBrook @Tanzy13 @kspenmoll @Lcsmcat He sneaks into every picture, and he's such a cute and handsome boy that I can't resist him. 7y
LauraBrook @rubyslippersreads It's the first old movie I watched the whole way through and that my parents let me stay up late for. Gene Tierney has been one of my favorites ever since! 7y
LauraBrook @Librariana 5 was so hard! And every time I put my Clue DVD in, I end up watching it at least three times in a row. There's so much funny stuff! 7y
LauraBrook @Zelma I just broke down and bought the three DVD set. Haven't seen Shaun in awhile, but with Hot Fuzz streaming on Netflix I've watched it the most. I rented The World's End recently and enjoyed it more than I remembered. I like anything these two guys make! 7y
Zelma @LauraBrook I should give The World's End another try now that I know what it is going in. 7y

@Bostonmomx2 - I know I'm a little late with my contribution for #5movies, but after seeing @readsusieread's post, I couldn't help but join in ?
.
These are movies that I would gladly watch over and over again with "The Goonies" being my absolute, number 1 favorite.
.
There were a few others that I wanted to include - Big Fish, Stranger Than Fiction, Pleasantville, Love Actually, Practical Magic, The Fifth Element, so so many ?

Bostonmomx2 Pleasantville was so weirdly good!! 7y
Librariana @Bostonmomx2 - Right!?? I think I'm drawn to movies and books with that magical realism aspect... and definitely to romantic comedies 😄😊 7y
Librariana @Bostonmomx2 - I also should've added Clue, The Notebook, Notting Hill, Star Wars: The Force Awakens to the honorable mentions list! 7y

Soubhiville The Goonies is my favorite too! (edited) 7y
Librariana @Soubhiville - Yay!! Goonies unite! 😊 It will always have a special place in my heart 💜 7y
readsusieread I can't believe I forgot about Stranger Than Fiction! I love that one so much! 7y
charissharpe I absolutely LOVE The Goonies! Amelie & Wall-E are beautiful movies too... And Fifth Element; "Multipass?" 7y

I love these movies and watch them repeatedly - even when they're on TV!
84 Charing Cross Road, The Chronicles Of Riddick, Hot Fuzz, Inception, and My Neighbor Totoro.

Clwojick 🙌Totoro🙌 7y
Lreads @Clwojick Totoro is the one movie that always makes me happy. 7y
Librariana I've recently watched My Neighbor Totoro for the first time and then followed that up with Kiki's Delivery Service. I think Spirited Away will be next 😁 7y

Choosing just #5movies was ridiculously difficult, but fun! Here are five of my favorites, in no order:

The Godfather I/II
Fargo
This is Spinal Tap
A League of Their Own
The Blues Brothers

Jurassic Park, Goodfellas, The Princess Bride, and The Shawshank Redemption are all right up there, too!! Argh and so many others!

I tried not to include any that were, to my knowledge, based on books, but these are just the first to come to mind with that stipulation:
-Pan's Labyrinth
-Big Hero 6
-Star Trek (any&all, definitely a Treky)
-Nightmare Before Xmas
-Beetlejuice

I really like darker, weird stuff. Not so much horror, though have been watching more if late. This list could go on.

#5movies @Bostonmomx2

night_shift Now book related ones: Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, Marvel universe anything, Batman, Jurassic Park. 7y
WarpedSweetness Beetlejuice and Nightmare Before Christmas!! I haven't seen Pan's Labyrinth yet though. 7y
Sace I love Pan's Labyrinth. I wish I could use it in the classroom (Spanish teacher here) 7y

Amanda23 Excellent choices! Love them all. 7y
Bostonmomx2 Beetlejuice ❤️ 7y
night_shift @WarpedSweetness whaaa?? You need to watch it, ASAP! It's subtitled but so beautiful and eerie. 7y
night_shift @RestlessFickleBookSlut yeah, I can't see that going over well 😂😂 7y
night_shift @Amanda23 yes! Thanks! :) 7y
night_shift @Bostonmomx2 I heard they're making a sequel.. not sure how I feel about that.. 7y
Sace @UnidragonFrag which sucks because I know my students would love it! 7y
Bostonmomx2 @UnidragonFrag no. Just no. I don't see how that would be good 😕 7y
night_shift @Bostonmomx2 I KNOW! I get so sick of the endless remakes and sequels. Just. The original was enough. 7y
WarpedSweetness @UnidragonFrag I know, I've heard so many good things about it! I keep meaning to watch it, but so many things to get in the way. :-( 7y
night_shift @WarpedSweetness I'm a bit of a movie junkie. I watch way too much TV haha 7y
WarpedSweetness @UnidragonFrag I used to be like that too. But since the kids take over the t.v. all the time, I find myself less interesting in catching up. I'm too tired to fight those demons. Lol 7y
night_shift Haha.. I feel you @WarpedSweetness 7y

elawsan @Librariana 😁 I did that on the 5bands tag. Really tried to keep to the rules on this one, but I keep wanting to edit and add to this list. 😒 7y
Debiw781 And you just reminded me of Office Space, which I didn't include on my list 😳 7y
elawsan @Debiw781 The list goes on. I'm sure with the people here we could make a pretty great list. It might be easier to list movies we don't really like. 7y
Debiw781 @elawsan 😂😂 my list I don't like is pretty long too. 7y
elawsan @Debiw781 👍 like any Spike Lee joint. I've never seen a Spike Lee movie I enjoyed. 7y
