Hey friends! So I've been getting a lot of questions about how #BookSpin/#DoubleSpin/#BookSpinBingo work & decided to make a “Master Post“ that I can link to in the future with all the details. For those of you who have been participating for a few months, this shouldn't be anything new. But feel free to send people to this post if they're interested in joining this challenge. I'm rambly by nature, so this is an unnecessarily long post. 😂 ⬇

TheAromaofBooks 1/12 - First, BookSpin is open to anyone who wishes to participate, and anyone who joins is welcome to skip a month (or few) and then come back. Each month is its own thing. This is a NO PRESSURE CHALLENGE. I just wanted a fun way to encourage people to read books they‘ve been meaning to read. Despite all these “rules” I‘m actually VERY FLEXIBLE – I just want people to read!! 4y

TheAromaofBooks 2/12 - Joining is easy: make a list of 20 books you‘ve been meaning to read, post it on Litsy, and tag me when you post it. The books on the list can be literally any books you want. Tagging me puts YOU on MY list so I can let you know when I draw the numbers!! 4y

TheAromaofBooks 3/12 - On the 2nd of every month, I draw 2 numbers: BookSpin & DoubleSpin. Sometime that month, everyone tries to read those numbers from their lists. This means everyone is reading different books, but the same number. Obviously, you can also choose to just read one of your books – whatever works best for you!! Remember – NO PRESSURE!!! 4y

TheAromaofBooks 4/12 - When you read your book(s), tag me in the review. I put a checkmark by your name on my list, and every check counts as an entry for the end-of-the-year giveaway that I‘m planning to have. I have literally no idea what exactly that giveaway is going to entail but… I‘m sure it‘s going to be awesome!!

DNFs count!!! If you bail on a BookSpin book, just let me know. It still means that that book is off your list & that's the goal!! (edited) 4y

TheAromaofBooks 5/12 - OKAY #BOOKSPINBINGO!!!! Bingo is an extra part of the BookSpin challenge. This part just started in July and is completely optional!! You do NOT have to do Bingo if you want to do BookSpin!!! But adding Bingo enables folks who want to read more of their books to do so in a fun way. You can try for as many Bingos as you want or even try to blackout the card!!! 4y

TheAromaofBooks 6/12 - To join Bingo, you don‘t actually have to do anything extra other than tell me that you want in when you post your list!! (And honestly, even if you forget to do that, you can still participate, obviously, you just won‘t get tagged specifically with the Bingo post.) So just post your regular list of 20, tag me, and say something about how excited you are about BookSpinBingo! 4y

TheAromaofBooks 7/12 - On the 2nd, I draw the 2 official numbers like I usually do, and make the regular post stating what the month‘s numbers are. THEN I put those 2 numbers BACK into the jar and mix them in. And THEN I draw out ALL the numbers. As I draw them out, I write them into a blank bingo card. This means that the official numbers will be mixed into the card somewhere, rather than always being in the first two spaces. 4y

TheAromaofBooks 8/12 - You may have realized that we only have 20 numbers, and most Bingo boards have 25. If you wish, you can add 5 titles to your BookSpin list (21-25) OR you can stick with 20, which means that numbers 21-25 on the Bingo board will actually be free spaces – you can check them off by reading any book that isn‘t already on your BookSpin list. 4y

TheAromaofBooks 9/12 - Everyone creates their own individual Bingo card by matching the books from their list with the numbers on the card. Then if you go to THIS post - https://www.litsy.com/web/post/1970952 – you can see my BookSpin list from July next to the Bingo card I created with that list & July‘s Bingo numbers. 4y

TheAromaofBooks 10/12 - I made my Bingo card by printing off copies of the book covers, but there are basically no rules here. Some folks just drew their own squares and wrote in titles, while others did some fancy computer craziness to make a collage. Just whatever works for you!! 4y

TheAromaofBooks 11/12 - One point of clarification – lots of times, when people are posting their regular BookSpin list, they like to do so by creating a collage with the titles. This confuses some people because it LOOKS like a Bingo card!! However, it‘s just one way of displaying your list – the books will get rearranged to fit the official Bingo card on the 2nd. 4y

jessinikkip So helpful! I had seen a few posts of peoples books but had no idea what was going on! LOL I'll definitely be participating this month. I already have my TBR typed up for the Trope-ical Readathon, Hmm.... wonder how many books are already being planned for August for me... And don't worry, clearly I ramble too LOL 4y

Sweetkokoro The only thing I‘m still not understanding is the bingo board. Do you make a new bingo number board every month and we plug our lists to match it, or do we create our own? 4y

TheAromaofBooks @Sweetkokoro - It's the first one. I draw new numbers for the bingo each month, and then you plug your list in to match up with the numbers on the new board. August is only the second month for that part of the challenge, so I am still working out the bugs! 😂 4y

TheAromaofBooks @Selena85 - You're very welcome to go through the backlist and find numbers from months past, but I will say that all 20 numbers are an option every month, so there have been some doubles. So if you're wanting to work off of one list of 20, you may get some repeats. I may be able to find the back numbers for you if I rummage around my notebook. 😂 4y

ElizaMarie I am not sure I have 20 physical books with me right now. So I am going to check that out. I want to try to read down my TBR of physical books I brought with me on assignment (plus I add books on my groups but those I read every month) ... That probably makes no sense. If I don't have 20 I might just put a book twice (so that if you pick that number I read it? ) Not sure.. Must check! 4y

TheAromaofBooks @ElizaMarie - You can totally have a book represent two numbers - I have a few people who do that, because they chose their original 20 books in January and want to read them all by the end of the year without adding more to their list. You can also fill in with ebooks - just whatever works best for your goals!! 4y

ElizaMarie @TheAromaofBooks I ended up using some Kindle books I had purchased a while back (well I think they were free to be honest) Some cozy mysteries (which I adore!) Anyway I got my 20! I am excited. But yeah I think every month (until I end this assignment Iwill use the same physical books -- unless I acquire more) 4y

Make a list of 20 books
Post the list and tag you to let you know I'm doing it
And any book can be used even if their NetGalley and Kindle book .
Then when the 2 numbers are called just read those books then come back and let you know. 3y
