I stopped reading. This book completely lost me 160 pages in. I found myself pushing myself to read the last two chapters. It‘s DNF pile now.

Vector Prime is the first book in the New Jedi Order series. It introduces the Yuuzhan Vong, an Aztec-like species of invaders from another galaxy. Salvatore caught a lot of flak for killing off a certain beloved character.
This was a good first book in a series. I'm excited to continue The New Jedi Order and see where the story goes.
Reading on the back deck while the sky turns purple. Listening to the birds, crickets, and distant woosh of traffic. This is the best.
So I realized today that I'm currently reading (or dipping in and out of) four different Star Wars books. Whoops.

Long before episode VII or VIII...long before Disney bought the Star Wars franchise & the extended universe was still considered canon (and not just legend), author Bob Salvatore was the first to kill off one of the main original Star Wars characters.
I curse that day & the scene still makes me sad/angry/confused/lets all just get drunk and pretend it never happened/someone pass me a tissue. 😭
