So much fun when you get an RT from an author you love! 👍🏻👍🏻🎉🎉
Also follow me on twitter if you want. I enjoy interacting with my Litsy friends all over the internet.
In this collection of stories author Christine Sneed presents uncomplicated prose that reads cool and clean in a Carver-esque style while at the same time relaying striking emotional depth. I got sucked into each piece to the point where when a story was over I had to sit back and spend time reflecting on all she had packed into it. This is not a book to zip through. You‘ll want to savor it. Favorites included “The Functionary" shown here.
Tonight's reading on the train ride home. I'm a third of the way through it. I don't always read short stories but Sneed's writing is pretty sharp.
Current to-read stack. Must...read...faster.
Love this collection. Filled with quirky characters and truly thought provoking circumstances.
I almost finished this yesterday during the #readathon, but had one story left when I decided to call it a night. Overall I enjoyed this short story collection.
Taking my reading outside. It's beautiful today! #readathon
Getting in some more short story time while waiting for my roommate to get off work so we can grab food.
"Americans romanticize struggle and hard work but do not, in fact, like to work hard."
I'm now accomplishing other tasks by bribing myself with short stories. I am at an adulting win today.
