I ducked out of the #Readathon just long enough to hit the Friends of the Library book sale, where I dropped $9 on an essential volume for my X-Men library, a CLAMP 3-in-1, and two great-condition books to give as gifts.
They gave me a free cup of coffee, too. 👍

I love the naked hardcover for this book. Poor young and innocent Jean Grey on the back cover and her as the Dark Phoenix on the front. 👌
pickI didn't come to comics until I was an adult, so I have grown in my interest in Jean Grey and Phoenix slowly over time. This book both indulges and does not indulge that interest at all. On the one hand, it really explores the danger and corruption of great power, and how that affects people around you. On the other hand, most of that comes from the other characters and you really see Jean primarily in the ending. Interesting though!
