A quick read that‘s fascinating and easy to absorb.

This is amazingly philosophical. It addresses the neurology behind in-groups and out-groups. It clearly lays out the ways perception is entirely inside of our brains, and even how by the time we are aware of any given moment, that moment has already passed. Eagleman takes a profoundly complex topic and makes it accessible to the masses to the point that it becomes entirely enjoyable.

Book mail 🥰📖😜

This book uses concise and simple way to talk laymen (like me) about our brains. Excited about knowing those experiments and findings of the brains. Like this book. 4 stars out of 5.

This really was a fascinating journey through the human brain, what it means to be human, and what it means to be sentient. I loved the way the author considered what we have and what we might be able to achieve, and what that might mean for us. Such a huge amount of information, well considered and clearly set out. It was also great to hear how enthusiastic the author was about the subject in his reading.

Pick this one without a miss. You will love to know how much less we are in control. How the intricacies of the decisions we take are laced out. Good to know more about us from a scientific perspective. Have fun reading!!

Thought this was a cool graphic about the brain and reading

A brilliantly accessible and wide-ranging book about what (we think) we know about the brain. From how sight works, to the effect of Botox on our psychology, to the possibility of transhumanism and artificial intelligence and the reasons why a social species can commit violence and genocide Eagleman's knowledge and enthusiasm come through on every page. Absolutely stuffed with fascinating information
Awesome book for anyone who wants to dive into brain and know how it functions. The writer gives a roller coaster ride with wits and description which is simple to digest and understand. Do read if you want quench the curiosity related to brain.

This was fascinating and detailed. I especially enjoyed the parts about sensory deprivation, cryogenic freezing, and unusual medical cases. I haven't seen the PBS series that goes along with this book, but I'll be watching it soon. I'm also planning to read Incognito ASAP. Eagleman does an excellent job of narrating; I highly recommend listening to the audio version.
