MinDea I had a hard time getting through this one. I really struggled. I did not connect with this family at all and I found the repetitive writing very annoying. I liked some aspects of the book but mainly he just bothered me. 🤨 5y

so-so

I had a hard time working my way through this book for several reasons but mainly I struggled with the style he chose to write these 3 stories in. Lots of repetiive things, random thoughts, etc. However, one thing I will say about Markus Zusak is that he sure knows how to make you feel for his characters. He writes real human stories and and real human emotions. Things we can all relate to. Things we all feel.

I am still working through #Underdogs for #MonthOfZusak. Not my favorite book. Have felt like bailing on it several times but am sticking with it. I think the second story in this book was better than the first so hopefully the third one will be even better.

I have completed 2/3 stories from this book finally! I didn't really like the first one but enjoyed the second one. Excited for the third one!

MinDea I read 2 chapters last night. That's as far as I made it. It's so interesting to have read The Book Thief and then reading this (sort of feels like the same person but also not really at all). It's interesting for sure and it does have some humor in it! 5y

MinDea Hey @Eadie. I was hoping that this would be a "relaxed" buddy read of just reading a book by the author of the month so I wasn't planning on making any sort of schedule. Hope that's OK! 5y
