"Insidious" is the twentieth thriller in #1 "New York Times" bestselling author Catherine Coulter's FBI series. FBI agents Savich and Sherlock must discover who is trying to murder eighty-six-year-old Venus Rasmussen, a powerful, wealthy society icon. They soon find out that the danger may be closer than expected. Venus Rasmussen, a powerful eighty-six-year-old woman who still runs Rasmussen Industries, an international conglomerate, believes someone is poisoning her. After Savich and Sherlock visit with her, someone attempts to shoot her in broad daylight. Who s trying to kill her and why? A member of her rapacious family, or her grandson who s been missing for ten years and suddenly reappears? Savich and Sherlock must peel away the layers to uncover the incredible truth about who would target Venus. Meanwhile, Special Agent Cam Wittier leaves Washington for Los Angeles to work with local Detective Daniel Montoya to lead the hunt for the Starlet Slasher, a serial killer who has cut the throats of five young actresses. When a sixth young actress is murdered, Cam comes to realize the truth might be closer than she d ever want to believe. With breakneck speed and unexpected twists and turns, Coulter s "Insidious" will leave you breathless until the shocking conclusion."

Predictable but I enjoyed it. It's been awhile since I've checked in with these characters and realized that I missed the book before this one so I of course checked it out from the library last week. Hopefully I'll get to it before it's due!

Need to get cleaned up in a bit as it's concert night. Heading north to see Bridge To Grace. It'll keep my mind off my #beachinbookswap package. One the plus side, I won't get home til after midnight so I can open it then!

I'm afraid to speculate on what this is on the pages of my library book. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to wash my hands! 😷🤢😲😱

dariazeoli Ewwww. I hate those anonymous stains that show up on library books. 7y
CocoReads @dariazeoli I've been pretty lucky, it's been awhile since I've run across any. This one will be going back to library with a note about it. 7y

Laura317 That's why I can't do physical books from the library. I stick with ebooks and audio. 🤢 7y
CocoReads @Laura317 I've been incredibly lucky--this rarely happens. 7y
BibliophileMomma Yuck 🤢 7y
EvieBee Ugh. I'm having this newfound OCD about being the first on the library hold list so I don't have to experience this. So far so good. But it means staying on top of everything super New before it comes out. 7y
CocoReads Just texted my sister (an elementary school librarian) about what to do. She said she uses Clorox wipes. I'm gonna give it a go. Otherwise this is going back unfinished which is a shame since I'm halfway through. 7y
hermyknee GUAC! ...or boogers. 7y
CocoReads I'm hoping its guac. But I suspect it's the other. 🤢🤢 7y
AmyG A good reason to read e-books! 7y
CocoReads I agree! 7y

CocoReads @Jinjer Close, tuna salad. 7y

CocoReads I'm the only one in the house that likes tuna. So I make it a lot because no one else will touch it. Lol 7y
Jinjer @CocoReads The thing I miss most here in Arkansas is tuna melts. You do not find tuna salad in any shape or form in these small Arkansas towns. I was eating a tuna melt with avocado once a week at home in L.A. I always thought tuna salad was a Midwest thing. Shocked. 7y
CocoReads Well I am Midwest to the core. Lol I also thought it was Midwest but to my shock the first time I made tuna casserole after I got married my hub accused me of trying to kill him. I blame the years he spent on the east coast when his dad was in the navy. 😂😂 7y

A decent double mystery. I don't love the writing style but I found the story interesting. 3.5-4/5 ⭐s

So for adult #sleuth I have to give it up to Savich and Sherlock. I have followed their journey since the beginning and even got mad at Catherine Coulter when she started writing paranormal bits into the series. (Yes I wrote a strong worded book review and sent it to her). #octphotochallenge

DGRachel That's kind of funny. John Sandford threw paranormal bits (I like the phrase - forgive the plagiarism please) into one of the Prey books a few years ago and I almost quit the whole series. 😡😂 8y
LibrarianRyan @DGRachel exactly. I believe I said something like if you want to e plots the paranormal fine, do it in a different book series. Not Sherlock who has over 20 books. She did do a spin off series but unless something has changed it is not paranormal either. 8y

These are going to the little free library down the block from my house today. Turns out I own 2 copies of 2 of these titles.

PurpleyPumpkin Don't you love when that happens? It's the moments when I find duplicates that I realize my tbr is WAY TOO LONG! 8y
