Themes: Time travel, Fun & quirky, Quick Read

This was such a fun read and just perfect for reading between Christmas and New Year‘s 🤩 There was enough of an interesting plot (and humor) to keep me engaged but it wasn‘t too hard to follow with all the hubbub of this week with family and stuff going on. I just ordered two of his other books, “The President‘s Hat” and “The Red Notebook”. Happy to end 2023 on a great note!

I'm not sure what I expected but I know I didn't expect what I got and that's a very good thing. I really enjoyed this story that starts out in the 2000-teens with an eclectic group of 4. Three Parisians and one American. After an unfortunate incident of one of them being locked in a cellar and subsequently rescued by another in the group, they all get together to share a cellar find, a rare bottle of 1954 Beaujolais. (Cont in comments)...

TheHeartlandBookFairy The next morning, one by one, they each realize that they have been transported back to the year of the wine, 1954. Comical, whimsical, magical, perhaps a miracle, and a bit of mystery and romance. Since Beaujolais is traditionally released on the third thursday in November, this was the perfect November pick for our book club (Cheers to 2023, all wine themed books). Cheers to book club, Cheers to wine themed books, Cheers to Vintage 1954 🍷 5mo

I heard about this book on the Strong Sense of Place Podcast- which I learned about on the podcast What Should I Read Next. I think it will fit in nicely to my 🇫🇷 Paris-themed reading. I was delighted to learn I‘ve already read this author. I loved his book the Red Notebook, and have been wanting to read more of his books. So here it goes… 🇫🇷

Maria514626 @tpixie Ooo! I loved the Red Notebook. I‘ll have to check out this one. Thanks! 2y
Deblovestoread I bought this one due to A Strong Sense awhile ago, too. It still sits on my shelf awaiting its turn. 2y
tpixie @Maria514626 it was such a delightful book! I promised myself over & over I would read his other books and haven‘t yet. Then I came across this other book yesterday by serendipity. Now I‘ve got to read more! (edited) 2y
tpixie @Kdgordon88 🤩 i‘ll try to remember to keep you posted on whether you should move it up! 2y

I enjoyed this whimsical foray into 1950‘s Paris. Antoine Laurain has the ability to cast a romantic light on the past without ignoring the things that have changed for the better over the years. This is a light, fun read that is an excellent escape from the dark times we are living in. #timetravel

So we‘re leaving for Disney World tomorrow and let me tell how you how excited I am! Why?
1. We‘re driving (well not me - the husband is driving while I read). I get 6 hours of reading time on the way there and back!
2. It‘s scheduled to rain!

So like - I‘m basically being chauffeured while I read and then holing up in a condo, where I‘m gonna pray for rain, and read. In other words - this is my perfect vacation! 😀
