Sometimes the poor are praised for being thrifty. But to recommend thrift to the poor is both #grotesque and insulting. It is like advising a man who is starving to eat less.

I do love this bookmark (thanks @Christine11 😊) - it's been appearing a lot recently!

But it does presuppose the ability to feel #happiness, which really isn't a given all of the time. So today I'm grateful that I can & do feel happy. And I'm grateful to the doctors (particularly the one in the polka dot bow tie) who listen and take mental health into account, even when prescribing for physical stuff.

Banning books, censorship, burning books etc are all acts of violence against the fundamental human need of truth. They reflect not power, but fear of it. For what holds more power than the written word.
