The Handyman
The Handyman | Bentley Little
7 posts | 7 read | 19 to read
Daniel Martin has never forgotten his childhood encounters with Frank Watkins, the man who built his family a summer home out of cardboard and plywood. Frank's gaze was oddly confusing, as if he was attempting to discern the proper way to behave because he didn't know how to respond in a human manner. Since Frank obviously wasn't an alien, young Daniel thought maybe the man was crazy. In the end, Daniel would learn the terrifying truth about Frank Watkins. And as an adult, Daniel is about to discover there are more of them out there...

Nope. I was very drawn to the premise, but I came across too many things I just never enjoy in my stories. I'm going to call them out as TWs: chid death, sexual abuse (implied), and rape. Not for me!

The Handyman is one of Little's more gruesome stories & just as Cujo reminds us to make sure our St. Bernards have their rabies vaccines, Handyman is about the importance of making sure the people who work on our houses are licensed & bonded.
The other 4 are entertaining ghost stores that Tamed Wild put together. The La Vampire is one that is credited in helping give Anne Rice ideas for Interview 👻

Mehso-so

I don't think I'm much of a Bentley Little fan, I've read a couple now and I'm not into them. I could see this one being better onscreen actually.

THE HANDYMAN by Bentley Little

When Daniel was a child, a creepy old neighbor named Frank built his family‘s summer home. But there was something off about the home. Something strange. Then tragedy struck.

Decades later, Daniel hears of another home built by the same man. But Frank couldn‘t still be alive, could he?

This awesome haunted house/boogeyman story has some of the most intense, imaginative horror sequences I‘ve ever read. So twisted👍
