Would you send a villain to do a hero's job? Flunked is an exciting new twisted fairy tale from the award-winning author of the Secrets of My Hollywood Life series. "Charming fairy-tale fun." -Sarah Mlynowski, author of the New York Times bestselling Whatever After series. Gilly wouldn't call herself wicked, exactly...but when you have five little brothers and sisters and live in a run-down boot, you have to get creative to make ends meet. Gilly's a pretty good thief (if she does say so herself). Until she gets caught. Gilly's sentenced to three months at Fairy Tale Reform School where all of the teachers are former (super-scary) villains like the Big Bad Wolf, the Evil Queen, and Cinderella's Wicked Stepmother. Harsh. But when she meets fellow students Jax and Kayla, she learns there's more to this school than its heroic mission. There's a battle brewing and Gilly has to wonder: can a villain really change? "Fairy Tale Reform School is spellbinding and wickedly clever. Gilly is smart, spunky, and a hilarious narrator, and I cannot wait to read about her next adventure!" -Leslie Margolis, author of the Annabelle Unleashed novels and the Maggie Brooklyn mysteries "Fairy Tale Reform School is a fresh and funny take on the enchanted world. (And who hasn't always wanted to know what happened to Cinderella's stepmother?)" -Julia DeVillers, author of the Trading Faces identical twin series and Emma Emmets, Playground Matchmaker

What if the popular villains turned good? What if they ran a school for all creatures who were found doing crimes? Will they actually become hero‘s? Or will they stay villains?

Very cute twist on the “disney” world. I did the audio (the non stop background music was a little distracting though). I enjoyed this and will def read the remaining books in the series.

I absolutely love this series. The main character Gilly is an adorably stubborn girl with the best intentions at heart...at least where her family is concerned! A look at fairytales from the eyes of someone who wouldn‘t normally be the main character of their own fairytale.

A fun first book in the Fairytale Reform School series that is perfect for the middle grade reader, this held my interest and the ending was satisfying enough to entice the reader to continue with the series.

This was a really fun modern spin on classic fairy tales. If you like Harry Potter, you will definitely enjoy this. It‘s a tale of good and evil and growing up. I really enjoyed reading this!

I loved this book! It was a very quick read and I couldn't put it down. I loved the spin on fairy tales I know and love. Plus I have always had a soft spot for the villains, well most of them anyway!

This middle grade book had such a cute premise - it was a short and fun listen. I‘ve already got the next two borrowed! #labsoundtrack

Fun middle-grade read. Bought it because it was $0.99 and sounded like fun. And it was!Interesting take on fairy tale characters including some that aren‘t normally included (such as the Wolf from Little Red Riding Hood.) Only flaw I found was that I had to suspend my disbelief at the narrator‘s age.

Villains think they have power, but the mistake they always make is the same-they have no idea how to use it. True power is learning how to put others first and not judge a book by its cover.

Hockey and reading on an unseasonably warm December evening. (Also this is procrastination to avoid studying for finals.)

Look what's free on iBooks. Means it's probably free on other platforms as well. I have not read this middle grade novel yet but I have read her Secrets of My HollyWood life series and I LOVED IT. This is susposed to be really cute. Check your ebook service. #freeboom

#Disney Technically this book isn't associated with Disney legally. It still has Cinderella's evil stepmother, etc. in this book. Also shown: some of my Tigger stuffed animals (I have a lot more). #SeptemberLibrary17

Another cute MG read - this one based on fairy tales. Lots of set up in this book as it's the first in a series so the plot seemed a bit rushed at end. Liked the characters and premise and believe this is a series that can only improve as it goes and the characters/world all become more developed.

Part of my library haul today. Feels a little silly picking this up from the juvenile section but then I think, who cares?!

Spent my Sunday morning finishing the first book in the Fairy Tale Reform School series. It's a fun little middle read book. The school is run by the evil villains from the Disney stories, like Cinderella's evil stepmother and the Evil Queen from Snow White. The plot was really great too! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

An interesting idea on what happens to the other characters in fairy tales.
