Lady Killer 2
Lady Killer 2 | Various
The killer housewife is back! The Schuller family has moved to Cocoa Beach, where life carries on as usual. Josie continues to juggle Tupperware parties, her kids, and a few heads--and things don't get any easier for the entrepreneur hit lady when her past comes back to haunt her. Lady Killer is a black comedy that juxtaposes the wholesome imagery of early 1960s domestic bliss with a tightening web of murder, paranoia, and cold-blooded survival. From rising star author Joelle Jones comes the much anticpated return of Josie Schuller the Lady Killer! Collects Lady Killer (Series 2) issues#1-#5. "A level of violence that can only be described as Mad Men's Betty Draper meets Dexter." -Comic Book Resources "Lady Killer somehow manages to perfectly incorporate the quaint concept of the 1950's TV housewife with blood-fueled antics of vicious killer for hire."-IGN "Lady Killer is worth its weight in gold for the art alone, but the enigmatic Josie Schuller is the real appeal."--Newsarama

This one picks up sometime after the last one and Josie is way over her head in a new place with her family, trying to keep her profession a secret, finding jobs, and trying to please her dear ol' mother in law before she spills the tea but a unknown surprise is going to change everything.
Story wise, it felt like a good continuation of the last volume and showcases where Josie's at and a bit of the aftermath of her job and the secrets she keeps.

This book was decidedly more dark than the first installment. End it does leave you on a cliffhanger and apparently the other hasn‘t written the third book in the series and it‘s been a couple years now so I don‘t know. The graphics were darker there was more shadow in this one and the plot was sad. Where the first one felt thrilling and funny this one feels dark and dismal. I‘d still recommend it to those who enjoy this genre. 🔪🔪🔪

Hour 20 (part 2)- decided to make my next read a graphic novel and one considerably more lighthearted. The second volume of the lady killed series is something that I‘ve been wanting to read for a while but never got around to. Now seems like the perfect time though #deweys24hourreadathon #readathon #readathonhourlyphoto

I feel like Graphic Novels are cheating sometimes, you can read a lot in the time it takes to read a novel. 20 mins and I‘ve finished my 2nd book of 2019! I think I‘ll keep the other four for the #24in48 #readathon that‘s coming up in a few weeks. The art in this is brilliant, Joelle Jones has a lot of talent, plus the story is so dark & violent with a touch of absurd. Who knew Tupperware could be so handy? Highly recommend.

Cinfhen Hahahahaha!! The many uses of Tupperware ❤️ 5y
MidnightBookGirl There's no wrong way to read! But, I understand. Part of the reason I set my book goals so high is to take in account the graphic novels and the occasional Children's book I review. ;) Graphic novels are perfect for readathons! 5y
ImSoStone_d I love graphic novels. I wrote a graphic novel myself, well I guess you could call it a graphic novel, on tumblr. It had to be taken down though because of the whole no more porn thing on tumblr and my graphic novel did have some nudity. 5y

#BookMail Pt4 I bought Vol1 last year and loved it! It‘s about a perfect 50s housewife who just happens to be an assassin on the side. Think Mad Men meets Mr & Mrs Smith with a touch of Harley Quinn‘s madness. The art is fabulous, the story is fabulous, if you like violent women with a lack of morals & a touch of crazy, this is perfect for you. Plus it‘s funny. Very dark, but funny.🔪🧨🔨💉

MamaGina Ordered! I loved the first volume too 🔪 5y

I absolutely love this series. It‘s totally messed up, but the idea of a 60s housewife being a for-hire killer, is absolutely classic. It‘s funny, it‘s bloody and it‘s fantastic. The art and drawings are absolutely gorgeous, making this an even more stunning piece! Can‘t wait for the next volume!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sace I second that! Love this series! 6y

A Mad Men-style 60s housewife is actually a hitwoman. And her cleanup crew is unreliable, but a girl‘s gotta do, etc. This was volume 2, still great. Bloody, violent, delightful.

I don't know why, but I like this series. I usually can't handle murder and gore like this. Other than the gory parts, I like the artwork, and I guess there's something about the housewife/assassin story that I like.

MarriedtoMrT I have been waiting for volume 2! Yay! 6y
MrsV I‘ll have to check this out! 6y

Love this graphic novel. The illustrations are beautiful. They capture all the different moods and emotions throughout the book. The main character is amazing... and possesses many talents! 📚😈💄👰🏻👩‍👧‍👧💃🏻👠🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪

Wife I was just going to tag you and then realized it was your post. Is there going to be a LK3? 6y
Kelican17 @Wife i hope so. I haven‘t looked into it because i think it going to be a long time before it would be released and that makes me sad. 6y

Another gorgeous graphic novel from Joelle Jones and Michelle Madsen! The mid century styling of this book is AMAZING and the whole premise of housewife turned hitman is tons of fun. Can't wait for vol. 3!

Talk about a bad ass woman. The Lady Killer graphic novels are really interesting, I enjoy watching Josie balance Home life with the life of a gun for hire.
