Gibson delivers a quick yet powerful read that includes some poetry from their previous works. Their poetry isn‘t for everyone, and there were parts that I couldn‘t relate to. Overall, this was a lovely read.
Trying to read this one for a challenge, and it‘s just not grabbing me. I love pithy sayings and poetry that makes me think, but this doesn‘t seem to be the thing for me.
I told myself when I entered the library that I wasn‘t going to get anything. As you can see, I failed gloriously. Can‘t wait to read this! It will be my first experience with their work. :D
I love Andrea Gibson!! This collection of their poetry was similar to Milk and Honey, which I didn‘t particularly care for. This book, however really struck a cord with me and I know I will pick it up again and again. Now I just need to get ahold of their other books; I‘ve read 2 but I think there are 3 more out there!
Yesterday I started reading Andrea Gibson‘s latest books (a favorite poet of mine), which was a Christmas gift from my OG pen pal, @rather_be_reading And I‘m not sure I ever truly thanked you for this gift so ... THANK YOU!! I am absolutely loving it. 🥰
Hello from my therapy office 👋🏼 reading a collection of poetry by a non-binary writer.
What poetry have you been reading lately? What's on your tbr? Any coming out this year you're super excited about? 📖
Gibson explores themes of love, gender, politics, sexuality, family, and forgiveness. Divided into three sections (love, the world, and becoming) of one liners, couplets, greatest hits phrases, and longer form poems, it has something for everyone, and will be placed in stockings, lockers, and the hands of anyone who could use its wisdom.
For readers of Rupi Kaur (Milk and Honey) and Cheryl Strayed.
#PrinceOfJuly Day 13: #TakeMeWithU indeed, a collection of poems written by Andrea Gibson. Fats Suela, one of the GatheringBooks ladies shared an excerpt from this powerful book:

Today‘s #libraryhaul they were all on hold for me except one, the Miles Morales one. I had already renewed it the 15 time limit, but they let me return it and take it out again. Which one should I start with? I #blameitonlitsy I picked all these out looking at posts on here, lol. Soooo much to read!!! Soooo little time and energy. I hope you guys are having a great weekend!! 😊👍❤️📚😎🌞
I have a lot of love for a lot of humans I don‘t get to know very well, but this one... this one gets more than most. I‘ve seen them perform live three times. Tonight I‘d thought to ask them to sign my copy of their book that I bought in Laguna Beach, but my people were ready to get food and see my new tarot deck so I skipped the merch/signing line and, I‘m glad. I‘m glad I chose being present over revisiting where I was when I read their book.
