rabbitprincess Ahaha horribly wrong font 😂😂😂 I am in the habit of adding comments to my edits, sometimes addressing them to my future self. “Future RP check the abbreviations again.” Less helpful are the ones where I wrote “Hmmmmm” several days before and can‘t figure out why 😂😂 4y

GingerAntics @rabbitprincess oh my god, I‘ve done that. If I edit on my iPad I can actually “write” on the draft. Then I circle stuff and I can‘t remember why later. 🤣😂🤣 So glad its not just me. 4y

CALLING ALL LITTENS!!!!

My dear friend and fellow Indie author, Suzy, has just finished her debut novel and was looking for a couple of beta readers to help her out. Her novel, Somebody To You, is a sassy British romance tale and although I‘m biased I think it‘s great. Would anyone be willing to read it in its raw form and give her some honest feedback?

Smrloomis Hmm, I‘d volunteer but I don‘t read #romance so I‘d probably not be very helpful. But there are lots of people I follow who post about romance so hopefully you‘ll get some volunteers. Besides being British is there anything else to categorize it? Like M/M or historical or something? Just thinking off the top of my head 😂 5y

So is flollowing like following but with some additional flailing? I know the newspaper business is having money problems but surely Bezos can afford some copyeditors. #copyeditingisnotoptional

Sace 😡 I see typos, misspellings and incorrect word usage more than I would like. I'm assuming it's the pressure of having to stay ahead in this crazy 24/7 news cycle. 7y

melissanorr That might be part of it @RestlessFickleBookSlut but the Post very publicly laid off more than half of the editing department several years ago so I think it's more about not wanting to spend money on it. Which I find completely unacceptable just like I do with book publishers. 7y

Sace @melissanorr Ohhhh. I didn't know that. I agree. That's unacceptable. Fact checkers and copy editors are extremely important. I understand that we are a capitalist nation, but sometimes it feels like we've sold our souls and minds just for the sake of getting the biggest profit. Not just *a* profit, but ALL THE PROFIT. (I'm being hyperbolic maybe, but boy I feel that way.) 7y
