Been in a bit of a book slump for a while, so I'm going back over old favourites... and its been so long I can't remember the end anymore! There's no better way to relax after a long day than this.

I really have a soft spot for books involving Norse Mythology. 😊 give me all the Loki stories!

Teen girl saves the world(s) with magic. Not my usual fare but I wanted a break from my heavier books. I'm interested in Norse mythology so it was a good choice: an entertaining palate cleanser, but now I'm back to something I can properly get my teeth into.

I liked that she didn't replicate the tired old "good v evil" set-up: the worlds depend on maintaining the balance between order and chaos (more nuanced and thus much more interesting!).

Any thoughts of prefaces/preludes/prologues/forewords? I have a cheeky confession- sometimes I just skip it! Especially in fantasy novels it often feels like waffle...

I loved her Loki book and hope this one is as good!

I loved this book! I do agree with other reviews in that it was a little unnecessarily long, some detail could have been taken out with no detriment to the story, but overall it's a good retelling of Norse Mythos. A solid 4/5 🌟

Well my reading has slowed right down (for obvious and very valid reasons!) but I'm still slowly making my way through my reading pile. Hoping to finish the tagged book this week and possibly another. Only completed 2 books in September (Wonder Woman and Prisoner of Ice and Snow), so setting myself an easy target of 4 for October. In the mean time I have these 2 beautiful boys to entertain and love! 😍

Been meaning to get around to getting this for ages! Thank god for Forbidden Planet and their amazing fantasy section 😍😍 I spent a small fortune but so worth it!!

Ah! So, so good! I loved it so much, I'm dying to listen to it on repeat! (Ignores glaring pile of ARCs I need to read...😏) I loved listing to this on audio, and am tempted to buy is on Audible but really want to save my other credit, since I can get this on OverDrive anytime... I loved the writing and the characters, the plot was interested and easy to follow. Definitely recommend for any Norse mythology fan! 5/5 stars for book and audio quality

The review for this is up on my blog! I loved all of the Norse mythology throughout it and the characters where so much fun! It started off a little bit slow and took me a little while to get in to but I ended up being completely hooked!

So I may have been a bit naughty and bought Runemarks...which means I will also need to get my hands on Runelight and The Gospel of Loki at some point too! Dispatched today from Wordery. Been on my tbr list for a while, so will probably start reading straight away! #tbr #tbrtemptation #wordery

I finished Runemarks by Joanne Harris today after what feels like forever. Overall I enjoyed it, but I think it could have definitely lost 100 pages or more without losing any content. It felt kind of... slow.
Also apparently, after a couple of vodka shots and some rookie booze mixing, I drunk ordered the Dutch edition of Magnus Chase last Saturday. I don't know any Dutch. Whoops...

Update: Runemarks is, thus far, fantastically fun! I love books based on mythology but I'm also very fussy with them. However, this one is amazing.
Question: I'm looking for cosplay suggestions for an upcoming convention! Thoughts? I desperately need some ideas!
