Reorging my bookshelves. These (and more) are all tbr. It may be time to go on a book buying ban (or just take lots of time off to just sit and read).

LaLecture I have a very similar photo from when I moved last year 😅. So far book buying bans haven‘t really worked ^^ but I still wish you all the best with yours :D. 6y

Okay this keeps coming up, so I want to ask you all: do you keep the books you've read? Which ones? (I.e., all?) And how many TBRs do you typically have hanging around in your possession (physical, not ebooks)? Avanders And my own responses: generally, no; only permanent collection books (law, certain text, cookbooks, bibles & studies, children's books, and the handful of fiction that I want to reread/lend out); over 1000 (the pic being a very limited view of only some 😉) (edited) 7y

GypsyKat I keep a majority of the books I've read. The only times I don't are when I didn't really like the book all that much and I know for sure that I won't read it again. Although, every couple of years I do have to reevaluate my stacks and get a bag or two out to donate. 7y

AmandaL I keep it all and I just counted 5 separate TBR piles on various tables in my house... I should probably clean this up. 7y

Avanders That seems to be the norm .. keeping books you've read. 🙃 But then... how do you have room for it all?! I just wouldn't have room if I added the reads to the TBRs 😜. @GypsyKat I love donation time .. even with TBRs I feel so cleansed 😄. @AmandaL I know the feeling .. when the book piles start taking over. 😁 7y

CouronneDhiver I'm a minimalist. I read a lot from Overdrive and own less than 15 print books. When I'm done, I just give them away. 7y

Crystalblu I really don't keep many as I very rarely reread a book. That said I keep ones that were Gifts or that I loved and want to share with friends, or special editions. As for TBRs 30ish 😜 7y

Avanders @Crystalblu you seem to be in the minority with me 😉 Wow @CouronneDhiver ! Not even 15?! I just... love having my books around 😁 I do tend to give away too, though. 🙂 I also love Overdrive .. I use it generally for audio books. ☺️ (edited) 7y

Crystalblu @Avanders I was just thinking, it might be due to living close to Powells City of Books! I could turn in the books I had read for credit to buy more books! Ever since I haven't had to keep Every book I bought ;) 7y

SilversReviews I keep my favorites in case someone else may want to read them. :) I never re-read. My TBR stack is manageable....aound 15, but I have tons of books elsewhere that I say I will get to some day. :) (edited) 7y

Avanders @SilversReviews Never! I sometimes reread, though with the amount of TBRs in the house, sometimes it's hard to justify ? Yep, "someday"... it'll happen for me too! ? 7y
