Hide the Elephant | 
I loved this book from Litsy author @JonathanDunne and recommend it for @MrBook ‘s challenge this month #authoronlitsy for #readwithmrbook. I‘m hoping Jonathan Dunne is reading this and can recommend which of his books I should read next for this month‘s challenge. Is there a proper order?
I‘ve been updating my 2019 book journal. I finished #litsyatoz back in August, but I want to keep adding the books I‘m reading in 2019. Books starting with “H” have been a big success this year! #letterH
pickI saw here on Litsy that Jonathan Dunne's books were free on Amazon so I got them and hoped that I would be able to give a good review since @JonathanDunne is on here! Readers, I am happy to report that I can honestly give this book a solid thumbs up.
Quirky, funny, sad. All the feels for this story. I even welled up a bit in the last few pages.
Looking forward to reading the other titles I picked up by Dunne.
pickThis is a completely wacky, totally heartwarming fun and short read about a zookeeper with Alzheimer‘s who steals and then must hide an elephant. If you followed my quotes from the book here on Litsy you‘ll note it has heartbreaking insight into knowingly losing oneself over time to Alzheimer‘s. Recommended to break a reading slump in record time.

Dang! This book feels so insightful about what anticipating full-blown Alzheimer‘s must feel like.
The MC has lost his job because of Alzheimer‘s & now faces forced retirement. The MC is such a sympathetic character. This quote has all the feels: “I feel home-sick again: sick of being at home.”
This book is helping me out of a slump: a quick page-turner. Alas, it has some un-PC language that gives me pause because I can‘t tell if it‘s meant to be the narrator‘s personality or something else. But I do want to know what happens to the elephant!
“But what‘s more terrifying is that I forget myself, but I continue being Mick Munroe to everybody else; they will see my decline until I am a stranger. They will know me when I don‘t know me. That idea is unnerving.”
Wow! I‘ve never thought about Alzheimer‘s from this perspective. Frightening.

I had to stop and consider how I was viewing this house. It's been overcast in my real world, so the weather situation in the book is similar to my current reality. I've never pondered this before. If the author doesn't provide all the little details, what goes on in your head?

pickWell, that was a fun little read! Quirky and funny, at times sad, but mostly happy. I particularly like how you, the reader, are a character. This wouldn't work in every book, but it works here. Such a delightfully weird journey!
