Another recipe from Dorie‘s Cookies: Double-Buckwheat Double-Chocolate Cookies

I couldn‘t resist trying one of Dorie Greenspan‘s recipes for cookies made in muffin tins. This one is called Classic Jammers.

Blame it on Dorie Greenspan. I‘ve given away many cookies since I started trying recipes from her cookie book, and I‘ve resorted to making half-batches, but still there are many cookies in this house and so I am forced to eat them for breakfast.

Calgary Wordfest‘s final event featured two cookbook authors. Dorie Greenspan talked about surprising people by chopping chocolate into pieces instead of buying chips: the different sizes make every bite of a cookie different. Also, you can use the chocolate you like best. Julie Van Rosendaal talked about Buttergate, the news story she broke after investigating why butter was not softening at room temperature.

Another recipe from the tagged cookbook. “They-Might-Be-Breakfast Cookies” is what Dorie Greenspan calls them. I substituted figs for the apples and raisins, hemp seeds for the wheat germ, ground coriander for cinnamon, and used spruce sugar instead of plain, so I think I can give them my own name: Fig & Spruce Cookies.

I tried a recipe from the tagged book. Leckerli are new to me: a Swiss or Alsatian spice cookie made without butter or eggs. These have candied ginger, dried sour cherries, almonds, nutmeg, cloves, black pepper, and lots of honey.

I forgot to mention something very, VERY important in my #basicwitchswap survey: I‘m a cookie *fiend.* 😍

I love this cookbook of both sweet and savory "cookies." Seen here: mocha ricotta puffs. They have a crispy outside and a soft inside, with hints of coffee and cinnamon!

The recipes are pretty easy, though I frequently second guess myself when things don't look like the photos. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 stars)

Loved this library book! So much so, I may need my own copy! Tried these out today, the Snowy Topped Brownie Drops 😋As many of the recipes are somewhat involved, I would recommend to experienced bakers. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As a cookie fanatic who's constantly searching blogs for unique recipes, I have to say this book is the stuff of dreams. I can't wait for some of these to make their way onto my cookie trays. The storage tips are ESPECIALLY great for the Christmas cookie bake-a-thon that will be happening next week.

Cocoa tahini cookies with sesame crunch (pg 131)The sesame crunch was positively addictive. It was hard not to munch on that before putting the dough together. I haven't tried one yet, I'm actually showing some restraint. But they sure are pretty. #litsycooks, #cookbooklove. 💜💜💖💖

I love Dorie's cookbooks. Her recipes and pictures are so appealing and most importantly, they work. This new cookie cookbook is exceptional bc she's honed various techniques and made numerous notes. Also, the measurements are in weights and volume. It's been many years since I've made these World Peace cookies. But it seems appropriate now more then ever. #cookbooklove

Thank goodness the calories don't jump off the page. This book has entertainment and inspiration all wrapped up.
