11 posts | 29 read | 5 to read
A New York Times bestseller! Its been almost a year since October Toby Daye averted a war, gave up a county, and suffered personal losses that have left her wishing for a good days sleep. Shes tried to focus on her responsibilities, but she cant help feeling like her world is crumbling around her, and her increasingly reckless behavior is beginning to worry even her staunchest supporters. To make matters worse, Tobys just been asked to find another missing childonly this time its the changeling daughter of her fellow knight, Etienne. Chelsea, a teleporter like her father, is the kind of changeling the old stories warn about: the ones with all the strength and none of the control. Shes opening doors that were never meant to be opened, releasing dangers that were sealed away centuries beforeand theres a good chance she could destroy Faerie if she isnt stopped. Now Toby must find Chelsea before time runs out, racing against an unknown deadline and through unknown worlds as she and her allies try to avert disaster. Toby thought the last year was bad. She has no idea.Ashes of Honor is the sixth installment of the highly praised Toby Daye series.

I loved this 6th book of the October Daye series, which has Toby working with a full array of magical beings – a shapeshifter, a teleporter, a witch and more, all helping her find a missing teenager who could inadvertently bring about the end of the world.

In a perfect world, they would have been. In a perfect world, they would have been allowed to have their little rebellions and take their little risks, and nothing would ever have touched them. We don't live in a perfect world. We never have. And on nights like this one, it seems like we never will...people try to dilute it...but the end result is always the same: dependency leads to craving, craving leads to madness, and madness, inexorably death

Saying October had a bad year is an understatement. And there‘s no rest for her yet. She‘s been hired to find the missing daughter of a fellow knight and deal with a folklore professor. Should be a snap, right?

October‘s continued development is amazing to watch. She‘s persistent, brave, clever, and flawed. I love her.

The expansion of the world of faerie is fascinating, and we get a couple new characters I want more of desperately. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Fun installment in a fast paced urban fantasy series set in San Francisco.

Strongest in the first arc of the series. Took me a while to get into the series but this one made me glad I stuck it out, especially for the slow burn romance. #romantsy

Finally finished putting up hurricane shutters. It took all day, and now I have to decide which book to start. At least I have plenty of options! Any suggestions?

LeeRHarry Shadow and Bone! 😊 8y
LeeRHarry Good luck with the hurricane too! 8y
GinaAnderson Stay safe! I'd go with General Chemistry Part III. Part I was great but Part II suffered from sophomore slump. Kidding! Read Six of Crows. 8y

thec0zy @LeeRHarry my sister's been waiting for me to read shadow and bone! It might be the perfect time! I think we're about as prepared as we can be 😊 8y
thec0zy @GinaAnderson I still giggled! And I just got the Broken Kingdom. Should I read the Grisha Trilogy first? 8y
thec0zy @BethFishReads thanks! My house feels like a fortress, and I get the best sleep ever with the storm shutters up😊 8y
GinaAnderson @thec0zy I haven't read the Grisha trilogy so I guess my answer is no 😉 8y
thec0zy @GinaAnderson ooh sweet! Six of Crows is such a pretty book, I just had to own it. Samesies with the Broken Kingdom. 8y
