Getting a 4 week old baby void to pose for a photo is quite a daunting task. May I introduce Vlad. He was found in our yard a few days ago following a storm. He is already proving to be a wonderfully snuggly reading buddy. Happy Caturday! #litsylove

Mark and Louise‘s parents suddenly die and what‘s left behind is the epitomy of horror stories..puppets….lots of puppets and dolls. Once Louise returns home to help sell the house, strange things start to happen! This book was weird at points and one part I completely skimmed. This book was low pick for me. It was more about family dynamics with a little bit of horror thrown in that just didn‘t reel me in as I was hoping.
A few years ago my bookclub read Good Talk by Mira Jacob. I loved it so much that I ordered her novel, which then spent years on my bookshelf.
What a wonderful story. It‘s about a South Indian family living in Albuquerque. It moves from past to present and back, with a lot of focus on Amina and her father, who has a mysterious illness. The intricacies of love and different ways of expressing it, and the wedges grief can create. It‘s 5⭐️ for me.
Admittedly, I almost stopped reading this one after the first couple of chapters - the actions of the main character just completely baffled me, and the response of those actions by law enforcement seemed completely wrong. Cozies are not meant to be real life, but this seemed over the top even for a cozy. The narrative did get better as the story progressed. Lots of suspects and mystery elements, plus a secondary mystery. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

I really liked this. I knew very little about Puerto Rican politics or history, so if what is in here is accurate I learned some things.
I liked that most of this is from Olga‘s POV, but we also get glimpses in the minds of her brother, boyfriend, and the letters from her Mom.
Definitely lookup CW if needed.
This is Sietje‘s pouty “can we walk now?” Face.
These letters are a delight! They show how the relationship between Virginia Woolf and Vita Sackville-West evolved. From acquaintances, to friends, to lovers. We read about their writings, their daily struggles, their pets and of course the other people in their lives. Their travels and of course their longings. The times they missed each other, the times they spent together. How they grew together. So glad those letters were published!

Getting ready to savor REBECCA for #hyggehour by reading in bed when this goofball is already there. Oh, and not on the bed but on the PILLOWS! #hernameiskate #yessheisaprincess 💚🩷💚
A boy takes his Bubbe Rosa around Brooklyn and Manhattan as they shop for ingredients for dinner. She struggles with seeing new things in the place of old and her memories flood their conversation. It‘s a short read about a Jewish woman in the city, and I love the glimpses of her when she is young and her interactions with an old baker she‘s known for years.
Trying to read but someone wants a cookie 😂🐶
