First book in the Palmetto Island series by Farley. A co-worker recommended her books and I‘m so glad! Getting ready to start on the second book! I love the sweet story line, women supporting each other and making the best of what they are handed. Nice relaxing read!

I slowed down for Grayson. He shuffled to keep up, his boot scrapping the asphalt. I felt better once we had stepped into the trees, into cover-that was in my blood, the impulse to hide, to sneak. If you kept secrets for a living, you start keeping them all the time. You kept secrets for practice, for no reason at all.

I ran across this title after listening to the Dateline podcast that covered the story. This is one fantastic lady, and her story was well written. The fabrications (to put it mildly) her husband came up with were unbelievable, and this was pre internet so she couldn‘t just google him. Once she found her power, I couldn‘t put it down. Great read!

Just finished and I really enjoyed this read! Based in Australia, a struggling town comes to grips with a murder and suspicion from a past murder. The characters were interesting and each played a vital role in the discoveries. I was drawn to the Authors writing style in the first page which is rare for me. I found this at the Old Book Barn in Forsyth, Illinois. Great Read! Now onto another Jane Harper…The Lost Man.

It‘s a Lifestyle, It‘s a Religion.
As a huge Gilmore Girls fan I was super excited to listen to Lauren read her book. It didn‘t disappoint. And honestly before this book I wasn‘t a fan of AYITL, however now can watch it with a new set of eyes. Lauren is just awesome!

ItsAnotherJen Weren't you intrigued when she kept bringing up the final words in the last episode? I was under the impression they wanted it to end there, but after reading this book I got hope that there really could be more! ❤ 3y
gobecauseyoucan Absolutely!! Lauren mentioned how she felt like it was a cliff hanger multiple times, like she was even shook about it! I really really hope they give us all closure!! 🙌🏻 3y

I re-read this with my daughter for her Freshman ELA class. This book is my all time favorite and I hope it remains one of hers. I have to say though, reading this out loud (skipping over quite a few words we absolutely won‘t say) has been challenging and pretty comical, the southern slang was hard to read much less try to say out loud!! 🤣

My Dad has always said “The breakdown of our country happened when large companies closed”, which drew me to this book. It‘s a Memoir of a young man who made it out of a stagnant physical and mental place that many do not. Very interesting read. I laughed out loud at some of his Grandmother‘s antics, she was quite a character.

RenePenn I have this ebook but haven‘t read it yet. 4y
gobecauseyoucan It was interesting to me that some of the mindsets actually mirrored some in my own family, that spunky fighting spirit that‘s passed down from generations. 4y

This was one of my recommendations on Audible, and I‘m so glad it was! Between the poetic writing style of the author and the relaxing tone of the reader (also the author), I stayed in a constant state of Zen while listening. The reading of the stand off with the bear and eventual attack made the hairs on my neck stand up. A great listen!! #survival #wilderness

Loved this book! I am drawn to stories of survival and adapting to nature, and this certainly covers the intensity of Leni‘s family moving to Alaska in the 70s. Leni found herself, her Dad was tortured by the darkness, and her mother suffered in a time when battered women weren‘t taken seriously until it was too late. Heartbreaking, joyous, and beautifully written.

As a mom of a teenager I was curious about the “whys” of teen behavior rather than dismissing it as “ just what teenagers do”. This book is absolutely fascinating, diving into the actual brain, comparisons between male and female brain development, effects of drugs, alcohol and concussions on the brain and much much more. I feel more aware of what is happening as my teen grows and matures. Excellent read for parents and neuroscience enthusiasts!

Nute I am a parent and a neuroscience enthusiast. Intriguing about the different development of the female and male brain. Stacking! 4y
gobecauseyoucan You will really enjoy this!! some of the situations that are mentioned, caused me a bit of fear, but they are worst case scenarios. On a positive note, it has helped me to have open conversations with my teen about multiple topics!! Enjoy!! @Nute 4y

I don‘t believe there will ever be a time when this book is not relevant. The irony is bursting from the pages and tells a lot about “human” nature. I still have a few remaining questions about what actually happened to Snowball the pig and his “reported” actions against the Animal Farm. I was also hoping for a few more details at the end, however we can pretty much guess where it leads. Very good read!!! M/9th

I finished the audiobook, and it left hungry for more of the same! I am currently watching the old TV series “Highway to Heaven” as it has that same peacefulness that is so prevalent in “The Shack”. I recommend this Book to anyone and everyone!!

I have tried on multiple occasions to sit down and read this book, I had a hard time getting past what I had heard about it before I even got started, which is interesting because one of the points of the book so far challenges our preconceived perception of God also. I am about 4 hours through the audio book and am completely engrossed in it, I keep going back to hear parts again to gain a better understanding. Lovely, can‘t wait to finish it!

This true story revolves around Mary Lee Orsini who lied and manipulated her way through life even as a child. The murder was one of the biggest events to happen in Arkansas since the Little Rock nine in 57‘, and took place during the Urban Cowboy club craze. The surrounding characters are larger than life, ‘the good ole boys‘ including Tommy Robinson who was appointed Director of Public Safety by Bill Clinton. Thoroughly enjoyed this read!!

I just finished this and have mixed feelings. The beginning took off and the ending was good, however I had a hard time staying focused in the middle. The story line was good, a ‘what would you do‘ situation. I am still glad I finished it and am happy overall with how things ended up.

Brew Davis gives a daily log while his wife Jennifer goes for the speed record on the Appalachian trail. I liked this read because it was something I could read each night when I only had a few minutes to spare. Brew gives a descriptive of life on the Pit Crew which was to keep us with Jennifer! No easy task! #jenniferpharrdavis

As an ongoing fan of Jennifer, I follow her posts on Instagram and missed out on meeting her last year at a book signing. ( couldn‘t leave work early enough) Thru-Hikers can also be described as machines, adventurers, and extremely driven, and this describes Jennifer in her travels! Thoroughly enjoy that she shares her journeys. #odyssa #jenniferpharrdavis

Cheryl opened her life which at times was very ugly, however through her pain and personal struggles came this beauty of a book. Will always be one of my all time favorites!! #cherylstrayed #wild

I see stories in movies and read them in books like this. It is still unbelievable to me that people could actually be influenced to live this way. It just shows how people are searching for something and often fall victim to others who hold an evil strength. Must read for anyone who finds interest in religious cults. #jonkrakauer
