pickThis was an amazing and wonderful story. Loved the audio, didn't want it to end. I'm glad I have the fourth prequel novel to listen to still. So many wonderful characters. #audiobook #audible
pickJayne Entwistle does a wonderful job narrating this book and bringing Flavia de Luce and the little town of Bishop's Lacey to life. #audiobooks
pickI quite enjoyed this book. The characters continue to delight, and I like the world building. Certain aspects of this book made it feel more like a set up book, establishing the next batch of conflicts for the series.
pickThis was my second time reading this book, and I was better able to appreciate it. Knowing the general structure definite helped me notice things I hadn't the first time around. #reread
so-soAn okay read, but definitely *not* a cozy mystery. Prefer not to see things from the villain's POV. Had some issues with the very 80s-inspired future world building. Eve and Rourke are entertaining enough characters, but I had trouble believing their relationship progression. Might continue reading the series, but not any time soon, I don't think.
so-soI can see why this is considered a classic of the mystery/thriller genre, and I am glad I have read it (well, read and listened; Dan Stevens did an excellent narration), but I only *liked* it rather than loving it. I can see how it has influenced other works, and I look forward to spotting that influence in the future.
I‘ve been a member of LibraryThing for 12 years, and it is my primary book cataloging spot. For more social aspects it probably could be better (I tend to lurk more than post in any forum, though, so I may not be the best judge of things). #LibraryThing
